PDP District President Budgam and Constituency In-Charge Chadoora, Jinab Mohammad Yaseen Bhat, has expressed serious concern over the shifting of macadamisation work from the approved location to another road in Zolva Gopalpora.
Mohammad Yaseen Bhat said that local residents have raised strong objections to the shifting of the macadam work and have questioned why the work was not carried out at the location where it was originally sanctioned.
He alleged that the macadam was shifted to another road during the night, creating resentment among the local population. He demanded that the administration clarify under whose directions the location of the work was changed and whether the change was made in accordance with the approved plan.
Bhat also questioned the alleged interference of the local MLA in the functioning of the concerned department. He said that development works should be carried out transparently and according to official plans rather than on the basis of political considerations.
“The local MLA should clarify why there is alleged interference in the functioning of government departments and why a sanctioned development work was shifted from its original location,” Bhat said.
He urged the District Administration Budgam and the concerned department to conduct a proper inquiry into the matter, make the relevant sanction and work records public, and ensure that development works are executed fairly and transparently for the benefit of the local population.
