Dear Colleagues,
The Central Working Committee has demanded from the department that:
1. Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) be included in the Eighth Central Pay Commission. Or, a separate high-level pay commission committee for the GDS cadre be constituted under the chairmanship of a judge of the Hon'ble Supreme Court.
2. Please stop the harassment of GDS employees (withholding of salary, removal from duty, transfers, and closure of offices, etc.) in the name of achieving targets.
3. Stop the abolition of GDS posts and the relocation of branch post offices in rural areas across the country.
* All colleagues are requested to demonstrate their unwavering unity by participating in large numbers in the one-day धरना (protest/sit-in) to be held on January 28th in front of their respective Postal Superintendent's office. The demands mentioned above are the burning issues facing all of us today. If we do not unite for our demands today, we will have to face even more difficult circumstances in the future. A union attendance register will be maintained at this program, and those GDS who do not attend will not be able to contact the organization regarding their problems in the future. There might be an emergency in the family for one or two people. Even though the union makes excellent arrangements for the conventions/protests it organizes, some people still don't attend. What is the natural consequence of this? A few days later, the postal administration holds a business target meeting where we have to dedicate our time from 10 AM to 5 PM. The organization is you. The organization belongs to you. The demands are for all of you. The results will be commensurate with the cooperation you provide in this movement for the benefit of the employees.
Therefore, all GDS colleagues and Divisional Secretaries are requested to kindly extend their cooperation to make this program a success in the interest of the employees. GDS with less than 3 years of service can participate in this program after completing their full day's work.
Sincerely,
Dinesh Kumar Rai
