Basisthapur byelane 3, Flat and House owners Association is a distinguished social platform, created by the denizens of the entire area, which was a brain child of Late Purna Lal Senapati, founder President of the said unique platform. However, many senior members of this area were instrumental behind such an innovative thought and idea. It was created way back, in 2006 and it has been organizing,
lots of Socio cultural activities ever since the inception. The Association felt need of a Women's forum for our active talented ladies of the area, over a perid of times.However, there are unstinted support and cooperation between the two wings of the said Association. This Flat and House owners Association is not only responsible for overall development of the area, at the same time, it follows with Government developmental works, GMC activities, PWD, Police for the cleanliness of the road, drains, Street lights and maintenance of law and order etc. The Association took active role during Covid19 for all round support of the members for mental and physical Health Care. The Association took out a beautiful magazine as Nava Arunodoi, so as to encourage the new generation and the members to inculcate the writing habits. Moreover, for geriatric residents there is a CineClub, so that they can enjoy good movies along with other members,sitting at doorstep. Both the Association organizes Socio cultural functions, Health camp,Independence and Republic day, Children day etc.within the area. Bihu Mela is a Mega function organized by Womens forum. Post Mela they take part in Xeng Bihu every year. Every month on the last Sunday, there is an Executive body meeting and AGM (Felicitation program)every year. We have a structured body to take care of all our activities. This is an exemplary initiatives in our area ,which should inspire others too, in a City like Guwahati to maintain peace and tranquility. Rather than adapting a mechanical City life, we decided to grow up like small village within the City, to maintain brotherhood and humanity. Deepak Barthakur. (President)
