Public grievances redressal camp under block Divas held at Panchayat Ghar Rehan (Basohli Rural) which was chaired by ADC Basohli Ajeet Singh. On occasion CEO BBDA Des Raj Bhagat, Tehsildar Aman Anand, SDPO Aakash Kohli, CDPO Rakesh Kumar, BDO Shailender Pakhroo, Sarpanch Rehan Kanchan Kumari, officers of various departments, Panches and a large number of people were present.

Today case FIR No.21/2023 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act registered at this P/S against accused person namely Kamlesh Kumar S/o Jai Dayal R/o Sandhi tehsil Bani and recovered 1kg Poppy Straw like substance from his possession. Investigation of the case assigned to L/PSI Kusum Sulakhiya No.196595-EXJ.

On 04.04-2023 a Police team led by Insp. Jaswinder Singh SHO P/S Basohli under the supervision of SDPO Basohli Sh. Aakash Kohli-JKPS during routine naka/patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area at Atal Setu Bridge Basohli area noticed the movement of one suspicious vehicle(Eco Van) bearing Reg. No. JK08K-9103 which was driven by person namely Vinod Sharma S/o Pappi R/o Janu Tehsil Basohli who was alongwith his accomplice namely Jevan Lal S/o Baldev R/o Kardoo Tehsil Bani enrouted from Punjab towards Basohli was directed to stop for checking. During checking approx. 01 kilogram of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) like narcotics were recovered from their possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotic substance (Bhukki) as well as vehicle(Eeco Van) was seized and two persons were arrested. On this a case FIR No. 20/2023 U/S 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Basohli. Further investigation is underway.

One person namely Vijay Kumar s/o Romesh kumar R/o Dhar khor, Teh Basohli has been arrested as 48 bottles of desi JK spl Whisky recovered from his possession. In this regard FIR 19/23 u/s 48(a) Excise Act has been registered.

Kathua; 24 March: District Police Kathua has successfully solved a theft case and recovered a 12 bore weapon from the possession of an accused who was arrested and the weapon was seized at Bani area.

In intervening night of 14/15-03-2023 a complaint was lodged at PS Bani through the complainant namely Nazir Ahmed S/o Ghulam R/o Chandel Morha Machwa Tehsil Bani District Kathua regarding theft of his "12 Bore Weapon" for which a case vide FIR No. 12/2023 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at PS Bani.
Based on the complaint filed by Nazir Ahmed, the police in Bani launched an investigation into the theft case. On 23.03.2023 police team led by Insp. Jaswinder Singh SHO PS Bani under the supervision of SDPO Basohli Sh. Aakash Kohli JKPS apprehended one suspect namely Mohd. Abbas S/o Nazir Ahmed R/o Barmota Bani who was identified during the investigation and was taken into custody. Upon interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing the 12 bore weapon from the complainant's home.Thereafter the police team recovered the stolen weapon from the accused's possession which was seized and legal proceedings are underway.

KATHUA; 15 MARCH; Kathua Police while continuing its "War on Drugs" putting concrete efforts to eradicate the drugs menace from the society and in consequence District Police Kathua today recovered approx. 176 grams of Charas like narcotics in the jurisdictional area of PS Basohli and 01 person was arrested in this connection alongwith seized the narcotics on spot.
On 15/03/2023 while receiving information from a reliable source that one person namely Kewal Singh S/o Basti Ram R/o Dhandi Ghuttu Tehsil Bani District Kathua is indulged in Narcotics Smuggling and enrouted from Peppri towards Bhoond by foot.Acting swiftly a police team of P/S Basohli led by PSI Kusum Sulakhiya under the supervision of SDPO Basohli Sh. Aakash Kohli -JKPS & Insp. Rajinder Khajuria SHO PS Basohli during naka/checking duty in its jurisdictional area noticed the movement of said person who was enrouted from Peppri towards Bhoond by foot was asked to stop for checking.On Physical search, approximately 176 grams of charas like narcotics was recovered from the illegal possession of said person namely 1. Kewal Singh S/o Basti Ram R/o Dhandi Ghuttu Tehsil Bani and District Kathua. Meanwhile all the recovered narcotics substance was seized and 01 person was arrested.On this a case vide FIR No. 14/2023 U/S 8/20/NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Basohli and further investigation was set into probe.

KATHUA, 14 MAR; Police in Kathua have traced out 01 missing person who was missing since 01.03.2023 and reunited him with family members.
On 01.03.2023, a missing report was lodged at P/S Basohli by one of the family members of the person stating therein that his son namely Shiv Kumar S/o Prem Chand R/o Preta Tehsil Basohli & District Kathua is missing . Accordingly a missing report was lodged at P/S Basohli vide GD No. 10 dated 01.03.2023 and search was started to trace him.Acting instantly on the missing report said person was traced out vide DDR No. 10 dated 14.03.2023.Meanwhile the traced person was immediately handed over to his legal heirs after completion of all legal formalities.
Family members have applauded the swift action and timely intervention of Kathua Police.

"𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙉𝘼 𝘿𝙄𝙒𝘼𝙎" an initiative of Government of J&K UT to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to listen and redress the grievances of common masses organised at PWD guest house Basohli by DySP Aakash Kohli SDPO Basholi .

The programme was chaired by Sh. Aakash kohli SDPO Basohli along with SHO P/S Basohli Insp. Rajinder khajuria.

Municipality chairman, BDC, Sarpanches,Civil Society members and respectable persons of the areas remained present on the occasion.

During the Programme, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of Civil Administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.

District Police Kathua has arrested one bootlegger and recovered/seized 41 bottles of JK Excise Whisky (250 ml each) illicit liquor in the jurisdictional area of Police Station Basohli.

On 08.03.2023 A police party led by Insp. Rajinder Khajuria SHO P/S Basohli under the supervision of SDPO Basohli Sh. Aakash Kohli JKPS during its naka/ checking duty in its jurisdictional area at Basohli, apprehended one person namely Manmohan Singh S/o Anchal Singh R/o Pretha Nagrota who was wandering under suspicious circumstances.
On checking, a total of 41 bottles of JK Excise Whisky ( 250 ml each) were recovered from his possession who has been arrested and the recovered illicit liquor was also seized.The said accused was carrying illicit liquor for its sale at exorbitant rates in the adjoining area of P/S Basohli in order to gain illegitimate profit.

A case FIR No. 12/2023 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act was registered at PS Basohli and investigation started.
