Worthy Joint Director North, School Education Department Kashmir, Mr. Hakeem Tanveer Ahmad, JKAS, today visited Government High School Sangri Top to review the academic progress of the institution and assess the improvement achieved as compared to the previous academic year.

During the visit, the Joint Director interacted with the students, teaching staff and other stakeholders and took feedback regarding the academic environment, teaching-learning practices and overall functioning of the school. He also reviewed the efforts being made by the school towards improving students' academic performance and ensuring their holistic development.

In a warm and informal interaction with the young learners, the Joint Director also spent time with the KG class students and engaged with them through playful activities, appreciating the importance of creating a joyful, child-friendly and stimulating learning environment at the foundational stage.

Mr. Hakeem Tanveer Ahmad stressed that academic improvement should go hand in hand with the holistic development of students, encompassing their intellectual, physical, emotional, social and creative growth. He called upon the teaching staff to adopt child-centric and activity-based approaches and to provide every student with opportunities to develop confidence, creativity and essential life skills.

The Joint Director further directed the staff to remain focused on improving learning outcomes, closely monitor the progress of individual students and work collectively towards making the school a vibrant centre of learning and overall development.

Worthy Joint Director North, School Education Department, Kashmir, Mr. Hakeem Tanveer Ahmad, JKAS, today conducted an extensive inspection of various far-flung educational institutions in Zone Fatehgarh to assess the functioning of schools, academic preparedness, student attendance and implementation of departmental directions.

During the visit, the Joint Director inspected HSS Fatehgarh, PM SHRI BHS Heewan, MS Malpora, HS Taripora, HSS Larridora and MS Larridora. He interacted with students, teaching and non-teaching staff, DDOs/HOIs and other stakeholders to obtain first-hand feedback regarding the functioning of these institutions.

During the inspections, several discrepancies were noticed at some institutions. These included non-maintenance/preparation of Teachers’ Diaries, reflecting inadequate academic preparedness on the part of some teaching staff; non-preparation of Mid-Day Meal (MDM) in some schools; deployment of teachers to other departments resulting in shortage of teaching staff in their parent institutions; and instances where students were reportedly asked to leave the school after the first half of the working day.

The Joint Director also took serious note of instances where some teachers had reportedly left the school after marking their attendance during the first half of the day. He observed that such practices reflect a serious lack of administrative control and supervision at the level of the concerned DDOs/HOIs and directed them to ensure strict adherence to prescribed working hours, proper supervision and accountability.

At the same time, the Joint Director appreciated the functioning of those institutions which were found working satisfactorily and up to the expected standards and urged other institutions to emulate such practices.

During the interactions, the Joint Director reviewed the progress of syllabus completion, submission of examination forms and the status of continuously absent students. He directed the concerned staff and heads of institutions to take immediate and effective measures for bringing continuously absent students back into the education system and to ensure timely completion of all academic and examination-related activities.

The Joint Director issued necessary instructions to the concerned staff and DDOs/HOIs and made it clear that regular inspections and follow-up visits would be conducted. He stressed that the performance of every institution must improve and that all functionaries must discharge their duties with sincerity, punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility.

The Joint Director also inspected various ongoing construction and development works in the institutions. He interacted with the labourers and reviewed the progress of the works with the concerned DDOs. The concerned officers were directed to ensure quality ex*****on, adherence to prescribed standards and timely completion of works, besides maintaining close and regular vigil over the progress of construction activities.

The visit was aimed at strengthening academic supervision, administrative accountability, student attendance, infrastructure development and overall quality of school education in the far-flung areas of the zone.

Worthy Joint Director North, School Education Department, Kashmir, Mr. Hakeem Tanveer Ahmad, JKAS, visited Educational Zone Langate, District Kupwara, on 24 August 2026 and conducted a comprehensive review of the functioning of educational institutions in the zone.

During the visit, the Joint Director interacted with the staff and officials of the Zonal Education Office, local residents and other stakeholders to obtain first-hand feedback regarding the functioning of schools and the issues being faced at the grassroots level. He also interacted with students and enquired about their academic activities, attendance and overall learning environment.

The Joint Director personally reviewed the attendance of students and stressed the importance of regular attendance, punctuality and effective classroom engagement. He emphasized that teachers and Heads of Institutions must ensure a conducive academic environment and closely monitor the attendance and progress of students.

While interacting with parents and local residents, he highlighted the important role of parents and the community in improving educational outcomes. He urged parents to remain actively involved in the education of their children, regularly monitor their attendance and studies, and maintain close coordination with the concerned schools.

The Joint Director also reviewed various aspects of the functioning of the Zonal Education Office and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officers and officials for ensuring effective implementation of departmental directions, timely disposal of official matters and improvement in the overall delivery of education.

Mr. Hakeem Tanveer Ahmad stressed that the primary focus of the department should remain on quality education, regular student attendance, accountability of staff, community participation and the overall development of students. He directed the concerned officials to take prompt corrective measures wherever required and ensure that the instructions issued during the visit are implemented in letter and spirit.

Joint Director North Reviews Educational Affairs of Zone Wagoora

August 01, 2026: Worthy Joint Director, North, School Education Department, Kashmir, Mr. Hakeem Tanveer Ahmad, JKAS, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting of Zone Wagoora at Higher Secondary School Wagoora.

The meeting was attended by the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Wagoora, Principals/Cluster Heads, Headmasters of High Schools, Heads of Institutions (HOIs) of Primary and Middle Schools, KGBV Schools, and other officials of the zone.

During the meeting, the Joint Director conducted a detailed review of several important educational and administrative matters. Key issues discussed included AAPAR generation, staff position, deployment of teaching staff, progress of civil works, and other institution-specific issues highlighted by the Heads of Institutions.

The Joint Director stressed the importance of timely completion of AAPAR generation, rational utilization of available staff, close monitoring of ongoing civil works, and adherence to Government guidelines and departmental instructions. He directed all Heads of Institutions to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and ensure effective implementation of all educational initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education.

The meeting concluded with an interactive session during which the participants raised various issues and sought guidance. The Joint Director assured them that all genuine concerns would be examined and addressed in accordance with the established rules and regulations.

Worthy Joint Director, School Education Department (SED), North Kashmir, Mr. Hakeem Tanveer Ahmad, JKAS, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Meeting Hall, Deputy Commissioner's Office, Kupwara. The meeting was attended by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kupwara, District Education Planning Officer (DEPO), all Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), and Cluster Heads of District Kupwara.

The meeting was convened to review the progress achieved under various flagship schemes and priority initiatives of the School Education Department. Detailed deliberations were held on academics, administrative matters, civil works, Aadhaar seeding of students, iGOT Karmayogi registration and course completion, NMBA, Eco Club activities, AAPAR generation, Inclusive Education, VSK Chatbots, Inspire MANAK Scheme, NIOS, and other important departmental programmes and assignments.

During the meeting, the Worthy Joint Director conducted a detailed review of the implementation status of each initiative and emphasized the need for timely completion of all targets. He instructed the officers to strengthen academic monitoring, improve institutional performance, ensure 100% Aadhaar seeding and AAPAR generation, expedite iGOT Karmayogi course completion, promote innovation through the Inspire MANAK Scheme, enhance the effective use of VSK Chatbots, and ensure the successful implementation of Inclusive Education and other flagship programmes.

The officers also highlighted various ground-level challenges affecting implementation. The Worthy Joint Director held detailed discussions on these issues and suggested practical solutions, while directing the concerned officers to resolve bottlenecks in a time-bound manner through better coordination, close monitoring, and regular field supervision.

He stressed the importance of accountability, teamwork, and continuous monitoring to achieve the objectives of the Department and reiterated that all officers must work with dedication and commitment to improve the quality of education and ensure effective delivery of government schemes at the grassroots level.

The meeting concluded with a resolve to accelerate the implementation of all departmental programmes and to ensure that every assigned target is achieved within the prescribed timelines.
