🚨 Heavy Rains Cause Widespread Flooding in Kamrup (M) 🌧️

Kamrup (Metro) has been severely affected by relentless rains, leading to artificial flooding across many parts of the city. In response, Civil Defence and the Fire & Emergency Services have launched joint assistance and rescue operations to aid affected residents. 🚒🤝🛟

We urge everyone to stay safe, avoid waterlogged areas, and follow official advisories. Help is on the way. 💪

A glimpse of the Civil Defence mock drill held in Guwahati on May 7 at the 10th APBN premises, Kahilipara.
It shows how people should be cautious during war, what should be done and at the same time and how CIVIL DEFENCE carries out rescue operations.

After finishing the JHUMOIR BINANDINI 2025 program duty, we (the CIVIL DEFENCE QR TEAM) saw a stranger lying on the ground in front of the main gate of the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Sarusajai. Immediately our team went to him and saw that the person was shaking his hands and feet and some liquids were coming out through his mouth. We immediately started first aid and then within 15 to 20 minutes the person recovered to some extent.

The District Disaster Management Authority, Kamrup (M) is hosting a Two-Days Ward Level Emergency Management Exercise starting from September 6, 2024.

The goals are: Raise disaster awareness, train a ward-level task force, prepare the community for emergencies, and enhance communication with district administration.

Day 1: Training on search and rescue and first aid.
Day 2: Mock drill with Fire & ES and trained volunteers of Civil Defence.
