We have partnered with 𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐄-𝐀-𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊 to help children in India discover the joy of reading.

Donate-a-Book is a crowdfunding initiative of 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬, a non-profit children’s book publisher with a mission to put ‘a book in every child’s hand’. With colorful illustrations, localized content in Indian languages, and easy access, Pratham Books’ storybooks help children overcome the barriers to reading and become lifelong learners.

𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧:

Our vision is to create a vibrant, welcoming place where children in the No. 2 Kalaigaon village can discover the joy of reading, explore new worlds, and develop a lifelong love of learning. The library will:

• 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒂𝒈𝒆-𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒔: Build a diverse collection of books on a variety of topics that appeal to different age groups and interests.
• 𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒂 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒆𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕: Design a child-friendly space with colorful furniture, comfortable reading areas, and educational activities.
• 𝑶𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔: Host regular story-times, workshops, and reading clubs to promote literacy and engagement.
• 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒗𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔: Train community members to manage the library, run activities, and promote a reading culture in the village.

𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬:
• 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈: The library will provide a diverse collection of age-appropriate books that will spark children's imaginations and foster a lifelong love of learning.
• 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔: Access to educational materials will help children with their schoolwork, improve their academic performance and build a solid foundation for future success.
• 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝒅𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆: The library can provide computers and internet access to connect children to the digital world and teach them important technology skills.
• 𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒂 𝒔𝒂𝒇𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆: The library will provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where children can socialize, play and create.
• 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚: The library will serve as a community center that promotes intergenerational dialogue, enhances cultural awareness and strengthens the village as a whole.
