The Chola Trinity Project

The Chola Trinity Project Recreate the glory days of the Chola empire through the 3 magnificent living temples at Gangaikonda Cholapuram, Thanjavur and Darasuram. 01.

To build the Almanac with facts and figures for the period of 400 years to begin with and extend it once we are successful.

02. To build the master plan for the Chola city of Gangai Konda Cholapuram

03. To build the Unit/Sub system model of key buildings/houses and articles of usage during that period

04. To create a map with cross reference for gaps in historic information

05. To establish th

e linkage between the three cities of Tanjavoor, Gangai Konda Cholapuram and Tharapuram? ( Rajaraja puram)

06, To build the complete model of the city based on the above.

07. To establish a museum in GKCP, with all the artifacts so that the three locations can be made as an unique tourist circuit.

Audacious Options: The Gangaikondacholapuram temple, consists of 3 stories and surrounded by a huge fort like wall, the outer wall was greatly destructed during the English rule (1896 A.D) to reuse the building material (Granite rocks) for constructing the Lower Anicut (Dam across river Kollidam)., is it possible to build a new dam, and bring the original stones to build the wall again? Is it possible to rebuild the palace and surrounding roads?

FIELD VISIT ANNOUNCEMENT
A group of us are heading to Gangaikonda Cholapuram from Chennai this coming Sunday, 15th December for a day trip. We leave early morning from Chennai and return by night.
A tour guide has been arranged to take us around at GangaiKonda Cholapuram.

Travel arrangements and costs will be finalized by Saturday morning after we have a final count of everyone who would like to join.
Please let us know if you are interested to join by replying to this thread before Friday night i.e. 13th December.
