Handloom Trade Centre Inaugurated at Chowkidinghee, Dibrugarh
A significant milestone in strengthening Assam’s handloom ecosystem was achieved today with the inauguration of the Handloom Trade Centre at Chowkidinghee, Dibrugarh.
The Trade Centre, funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC) and implemented by the Directorate of Handloom & Textiles, Assam, has been established to provide enhanced marketing opportunities, exhibition facilities and business support for Assam’s handloom artisans and entrepreneurs.
The Centre was inaugurated by Shri Biswajit Daimary, Hon’ble Minister, Handloom, Textiles & Sericulture, Government of Assam, in the distinguished presence of Shri Rituparna Baruah, Chairman, Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC); Smti Moyuri Oja, ACS, Director, Handloom & Textiles, Assam; Smti Nandita Boruah, ACS, District Development Commissioner, Dibrugarh; Shri Ranjeet Deka, Additional Director, Handloom & Textiles, Assam; Shri Dulal Bora, President, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dibrugarh; and Smti Nabanita Handique, Ex-MLA, Sonari.
The Handloom Trade Centre is envisioned as a dedicated platform to showcase the rich heritage of Assamese handloom, strengthen market linkages, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for the weaving community.

আজি ডিব্ৰুগড়ৰ চ’কিডিঙীত স্থাপিত হাততাঁত বাণিজ্য কেন্দ্ৰ আনুষ্ঠানিকভাৱে উদ্বোধন কৰা হয়।
উত্তৰ-পূৰ্বাঞ্চল পৰিষদ (NEC)-ৰ আৰ্থিক সহযোগিতাত আৰু হস্ততাঁত আৰু বস্ত্ৰ সঞ্চালকালয়, অসম-ৰ ৰূপায়ণত নিৰ্মিত এই কেন্দ্ৰই অসমৰ শিপিনীৰ হাতে বোৱা উৎকৃষ্ট বস্ত্ৰৰ বিপণন, প্ৰদৰ্শনী আৰু ব্যৱসায়িক সম্ভাৱনা অধিক শক্তিশালী কৰাৰ লক্ষ্যৰে স্থাপন কৰা হৈছে।
এই বাণিজ্য কেন্দ্ৰৰ শুভ উদ্বোধন কৰে অসম চৰকাৰৰ মাননীয় হস্ততাঁত, বস্ত্ৰ আৰু ৰেচম বিভাগৰ মন্ত্ৰী শ্ৰী বিশ্বজিৎ দৈমাৰীয়ে। অনুষ্ঠানত অসম পৰ্যটন উন্নয়ন নিগম (ATDC)-ৰ অধ্যক্ষ শ্ৰী ঋতুপৰ্ণ বৰুৱা, হস্ততাঁত আৰু বস্ত্ৰশিল্প সঞ্চালকালয়ৰ সঞ্চালিকা শ্ৰীমতী ময়ুৰী ওজা, ACS, ডিব্ৰুগড়ৰ জিলা উন্নয়ন আয়ুক্ত শ্ৰীমতী নন্দিতা বৰুৱা, ACS, হস্ততাঁত আৰু বস্ত্ৰশিল্প সঞ্চালকালয়ৰ অতিৰিক্ত সঞ্চালক শ্ৰী ৰঞ্জিত ডেকা, ডিব্ৰুগড় জিলা বিজেপিৰ সভাপতি শ্ৰী দুলাল বৰা আৰু সোণাৰিৰ প্ৰাক্তন বিধায়িকা শ্ৰীমতী নৱনীতা সন্দিকৈ উপস্থিত থাকে।
এই হস্ততাঁত বাণিজ্য কেন্দ্ৰই অসমৰ সমৃদ্ধ ঐতিহ্যক অধিক বিস্তাৰ কৰাৰ লগতে শিপিনীৰ হাতে বোৱা উৎকৃষ্ট বস্ত্ৰৰ বাবে এক স্থায়ী বিপণন মঞ্চ হিচাপে কাম কৰিব আৰু শিপিনীসকলৰ আৰ্থ-সামাজিক উন্নয়নত উল্লেখযোগ্য ভূমিকা পালন কৰিব।
