American Members of Congress During Their Visit to the Western Wall: Prayer for the peace of Jerusalem... May the Jewish people remain strong forever! ”

As part of their solidarity visit to Israel, Republican members of the U.S. Congress Marlin Stutzman and Abe Hamadeh visited the Western Wall this morning (Wednesday) for a visit of support and prayer.

The delegation was welcomed by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites, and by Mordechai (Suli) Eliav, director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, who explained to them the history and significance of the Western Wall to the Jewish people throughout the generations. They also thanked them for the unwavering support of the United States for the State of Israel and the Jewish people, especially during this time.

The rabbi recited a special prayer together with the members of the delegation for the peace of both nations and for the continued success of the friendship between the peoples and countries. They also placed prayer notes between the stones of the Western Wall.

The delegation later toured the Western Wall Tunnels and the new immersive presentation, "The Gateway to Heaven", which was recently opened to visitors at the Western Wall. They concluded their visit by signing the guest book with the message: “Prayer for the peace of Jerusalem...May the Jewish people remain strong forever!”

For the Wellbeing of IDF Soldiers: Ashkelon Children Place Prayer Notes Between the Stones of the Western Wall

In honor of Jerusalem Day, and as they do every year, children from Ashkelon traveled to Jerusalem and placed prayer notes between the stones of the Western Wall.

Over the past month, the children took part in a special educational journey connecting them to Jerusalem and the Western Wall, organized by the Western Wall Heritage Foundation in cooperation with the Department for Jewish Culture of the Ashkelon Municipality.

The program began with a special classroom lesson in which the students learned about the history of Jerusalem and the Western Wall, and their significance to the Jewish people. In the days leading up to Jerusalem Day, the children participated in special quizzes and received notes on which they wrote their heartfelt wishes and personal prayers to be placed between the stones of the Western Wall. This year, in light of the security situation, the children especially emphasized prayers for the wellbeing and safety of IDF soldiers and members of the security forces.

Yesterday (Sunday), representatives of Ashkelon’s children from 27 schools across the city traveled to Jerusalem, bringing with them the prayer notes in specially designed boxes prepared by the students.

During a moving ceremony broadcast live from the Western Wall Plaza to the elementary schools in Ashkelon that participated in this meaningful journey of connection to Jerusalem, the students stood together in emotional song and, together with Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites, offered heartfelt prayers for the safety of IDF soldiers and security forces, for the healing of those wounded in body and spirit, and for the peace and security of Israel.

Afterward, accompanied by their educators and teachers, the students placed the thousands of prayer notes between the stones of the Western Wall and toured the Western Wall Tunnels sites.

Rosh Chodesh Sivan

In Jewish tradition, the month of Sivan is identified with one of the defining moments in the history of the Jewish people - the Revelation on Mount Sinai when the Jewish nation received the Torah.
Even before receiving the Torah, the Israelites are described as standing “as one person with one heart” before Mount Sinai - a rare and moving moment of unity and connection.

At the Western Wall Plaza, this can be seen anew every day - families, soldiers, students, and visitors from Israel and around the world, arriving from different places yet standing together before the same ancient stones. There is something special in the gathering, in the listening, and in the connection to tradition, identity, and the chain of generations.

As we approach Shavuot, the festival of the giving of the Torah, may we all remember that unity and connection among us are part of our story as a people - then and now.

Wishing you a good and blessed month.

Yesterday (Monday), a significant ceremony took place at the Western Wall, during which one of the ancient stones of the Western Wall - weighing 5 tons and dating back to the destruction of the Second Temple - was returned from its display and exhibition in recent years at the Kirya (IDF headquarters) in the Ministry of Defense, to its eternal burial place alongside the other sacred stones.

The decision was made following a request by the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, to the Minister of Defense, Mr. Israel Katz, who agreed to return the Western Wall stone to its natural burial site, alongside the other stones preserved there with due honor.

As recalled, in the past year the chief rabbis of Israel and the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites issued a call to return the ancient Western Wall stones to a dedicated burial site in their original location. The Council of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel convened at the Western Wall and decided that the Israel Antiquities Authority, together with the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, would return all remaining Western Wall stones currently displayed at the President’s Residence, the Israel Museum, and Israel Antiquities Authority storage facilities, to burial alongside the Western Wall stones. It was also decided to preserve the sanctity of the stones, including fencing the burial site and issuing guidelines to the public to avoid using them.

The Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz: “The stones of the Western Wall are not only stones; they carry the soul of the Jewish people, the pain of exile and the joy of return. Even when there were attempts to bring this sanctity into the centers of national decision-making, their natural place is here, in their original home. The return of the stone today is not only a physical return, but a reconnection to the deep foundations that sustain the entire nation.”

Minister of Defense, Mr. Israel Katz: “The stones of the Western Wall belong to the Wall, and therefore it was clear that the stone must be returned to its natural place alongside the other stones in the Old City of Jerusalem. Each stone carries the story of the Jewish people - from prayers and hope, through destruction, to the strength and renewed sovereignty of the State of Israel. The return of the stone today reflects our commitment to Jerusalem and the Western Wall forever, and the clear promise: the Temple will never be destroyed again.”

Director General of the Israel Antiquities Authority, Mr. Eli Escusido: “The Israel Antiquities Authority, the Ministry of Heritage, and Minister Amichai Eliyahu are committed to acting on matters of sanctity with respect for Jewish tradition and in accordance with the rulings of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, which determined that the stones of the Western Wall carry special sanctity. Accordingly, the Authority will work to return all stones to eternal burial in their place alongside the other sacred stones.”

MK Rabbi Meir Porush: “We stand here before the historic stones, which have survived all the upheavals and regimes that have passed over the Land of Israel - in historic days in which we merit to see God’s salvation, as the people of Israel fight with strength and prevail over our enemies who rise against us to destroy us. Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai promised us: God forbid that Torah will be forgotten from Israel, as it is written: ‘For it shall not be forgotten from the mouth of his descendants.’ This is an opportunity to thank the Rabbi of the Western Wall for the initiative, the Minister of Defense for responding to the request, and for returning the stone to the Western Wall - the place to which millions of Jews from all corners of the world come to pray and merit salvation.”

Argentina’s President during his visit to the Western Wall: “Here I feel close to God!”

“Am Yisrael Chai”: Argentina’s President, Mr. Javier Milei, concluded his visit to Israel with an emotional prayer at the Western Wall on the eve of Independence Day.

At the conclusion of his official visit to Israel, Argentina’s President, Mr. Javier Milei, arrived for a visit and prayer at the Western Wall.
During his visit, and in honor of the 78th Independence Day of the State of Israel, the president offered a special prayer for the welfare of Israel and Argentina, and for the continued strengthening of the strong friendship between their leaders and nations.

During the visit, the director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, Mr. Mordechai (Suli) Eliav, presented the president with ancient ash from the Second Temple period, recently uncovered at the base of a ritual bath (mikveh) from the end of that era. The president was deeply moved to touch the ancient ash.

At the conclusion of the emotional visit, Argentina’s President said: “This visit to Israel at this time was very important to me! When friends are in a difficult situation, this is the time to come and support them! Just as the Maccabees triumphed in the past, so too the people of Israel will defeat their enemies now! The Jewish people are the people of God!”

“Here I feel close to God!”
