Wexford Library Our Mission Statement: To promote change and social justice through access to knowledge and information. Membership of the library is free. So why not join?

We are a public library service run by Wexford County Council. Just call in to us with proof of address (letter, bill, driving licence etc.) and photographic ID, fill out a simple registration form. When you become a member of Wexford Library, you can:

Borrow up to 12 items and this includes books, DVDs, CDs for 3 weeks at a time, from any of our public library branches in County Wexford. Free internet access. Book a session to practice the Driver theory test. Learn a new language online from the comfort of your own home. Be in the know about free events happening in your library

Our second workshop "Understanding Artificial Intelligence - AI for Everyday Life" was a great success, judging by the smiles on everyone’s faces!

A big thank you to Leonard and Nial for facilitating such an engaging and informative session.

By the end of the workshop, attendees gained greater confidence in using AI and discovered how it can support them in everything from organising appointments and finding information to creating personalised plans and learning new skills.

This workshop will take place once a month to give as many people as possible the opportunity to participate.

All Wexford County Council library branches, including the mobile library service, will be closed to the public on Wednesday 14, October 2026 due to the escalation of industrial action measures among public sector unions.

As part of our continued celebrations for Children's Book Festival, we had a wonderful time with author Eve McDonnell at Wexford Library!

Children became treasure hunters, exploring a fascinating collection of unusual finds and discovering the stories hidden within them, inspired by Needle, the main character from Eve's award-winning novel Elsetime. We also loved hearing the stories behind some very special treasures brought along by the children themselves.

A huge thank you to Eve for such an imaginative and engaging event, and to everyone who joined us and shared in the adventure.
