A quick reminder for anyone renovating, repairing or living in an older stone or masonry house.
Next Monday, we’re running the Walls session of The Breathable Home Series, a free, live online workshop focused on how traditional walls actually work, and why so many modern “solutions” end up making damp problems worse.
If you’ve already signed up, this is just a reminder that the session is coming up on Monday evening.
If you haven’t, there’s still time to join - but booking will close shortly so we can keep the session manageable.
The workshop looks at how stone and brick walls deal with moisture, why cement renders, tanking slurries, rigid insulation boards and plastic membranes often cause long-term issues, and what breathable alternatives make sense in older buildings.
It’s aimed at homeowners, self-builders and tradespeople, architects who want to understand the reasoning behind the advice, not just be told what to do.
The session is live, runs for about 90 minutes, and includes time for questions at the end.
If you’re dealing with damp walls, cold rooms, or conflicting renovation advice, it may help to hear how these buildings were originally designed to function before making your next decision.
