✨ Meet the Artists ✨ Kalle Peura is a versatile and accomplished Finnish pianist whose artistry seamlessly bridges the traditional and the innovative. 🎹 After discovering the piano at age 13, his early explorations of Blues and Jazz transitioned into a passion for classical music, inspired by the works of Chopin. 🎶🎵

🎹🎶Guided by his first teacher, a Georgian concert pianist, Peura began his formal training at the Helsinki Conservatory of Music before earning a Bachelor’s degree in Chamber Music from the Academy of Music and Opera at Mälardalen University in Sweden, a Master’s degree in Soloistic Interpretation from the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona, and a Recital Artist’s Diploma at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, where he graduated in 2024.✨

✨Meet the Tellers✨ Seosamh Ó Maolalaí is a Dubliner. He tells stories, sings a song or two. 🎵🎶 His stories are from the parish and from the world. He has many Monaghan friends – one from Ballybay who drinks the tay, one from Monaghan who prefers the brandy but the best of all is the Blayney man that ates the sugar candy.

✨ Seosamh tells stories to children of all ages from nought to a hundred and five. He’ll tell in English and in Irish but don’t worry, you’ll understand him fine. Stories from far and near. Scéalta ó chéin is ó chóngar.

✨Meet the Tellers✨

🌺 🌿Riikka Palonen is a barefoot forest girl from Finland 🌺 🌿 For more than 20 years, she worked as a modern highland drover, an importer and breeder of Highland Cattle. 🐮 Those long years tending and herding cattle in the Finnish woods gave her a very special connection to nature; to animals both wild and domestic, and to the ancient spirits of the land. 🧚🍄

🌞 Riikka tells, and sings, traditional Finnish and northern folk tales and stories of her own, which very often have a deep connection to the land and the cycles of life. 🌙 She enjoys historical stories, ancient northern myths and ballads, and of course stories from the great Finnish epic Kalevala, and often she weaves scientific or philosophical ponderings into her sets. 🌳🌊

Riikka has lived in Scotland since 2023 and is in the TRACS Directory of Professional Storytellers.

For more information on Riikka, check out her full bio on drumlinstorytelling.ie .
