Sarah Webb at Galway City Library 8th October 2026 at 6.30pm. Free Event.

Sarah is an award-winning children’s author and a passionate advocate for reading, children’s literature and libraries. Her experience offers valuable insights into building strong reading habits, sustaining children’s interest in books as they grow, and helping teenagers discover the enjoyment and value of reading in an increasingly digital world.

The talk is also a worthwhile professional development opportunity for library staff. Reader development and literacy are central to our work, and Sarah’s practical perspective may offer ideas we can bring into our branches, programmes, school engagement and work with families.

Encouraging young readers is a shared effort. Families, teachers, librarians, authors and other trusted adults can all play a part by making time for stories, talking positively about books and helping young people find reading that interests them.

Ideal for families, teachers and others in your communities who support children and young people.
