Something special is coming to Fiáin… 🥹🤎🦉

Anyone who knows me knows just how much these animals mean to me. Every one of them has their own little personality, their own story, and a special place here at Fiáin. 🤍

I’ve been working on something behind the scenes that will give you a chance to feel a little closer to the animals you love. ✨

I’m not quite ready to share all the details just yet, but I’m so excited about this one! 🥹🤎

Still learning to fly, but already an expert at cuddles. 🥹🤎🦉

Archie loves getting out, exploring his surroundings and taking in everything happening around him. We're still working away on his flight training, but there's no rush — sometimes the best part of an adventure is simply enjoying the view before settling in for a cuddle on my elbow. 🤎

He's growing in confidence all the time, and watching his little personality shine through is such a joy. One little adventure at a time, Archie. 🦉✨

Life lately at Fiáin 🍂🎃🐾

Two ferrets, two tiny pumpkins and the most important investigation of the season 😂🤎

Jolene and Fluffy are absolutely fascinated by their little pumpkins… sniffing, licking and clinging on to them like they're the best things they've ever discovered! 🥹🎃

Pumpkin still prefers running to flying 😂🦉

Every time she takes off running with those wings out, it brings us right back to her dino days 🦖🤍

She’s growing up fast, but thankfully she hasn’t completely outgrown her dinosaur era just yet! 😂

Meet Archie 🦉🤎

Our little southern boobook, and quite the character already.

Boobooks are known for forming strong bonds with their keepers, and I think Archie is a lovely example of that. His little chirps, his curiosity and the way he watches me make it very clear that we’re developing a pretty special bond. 🥰

No music needed for this one… just Archie. ❤️

One of the coolest things about birds of prey… they have a THIRD eyelid! 👀🦉

This is Pumpkin showing off her nictitating membrane — a translucent third eyelid that protects the eye, keeps it moist and helps clear away debris, while still allowing her to see. 🤍

Nature really is incredible!

And yes… the last clip is just Pumpkin being Pumpkin. 😂🦉🤍

Something a little different behind the scenes at Fiáin… 🌿🤎

I’m so excited to finally share our new animal information signs! 🥹

A very talented friend of mine has made each one by hand using beautiful **ash wood**, with a laser-burned image of each individual animal, along with information about their species.

These aren’t just pretty signs — they have been carefully designed to include the information required as part of our zoo licence, helping our visitors learn a little more about the animals they are meeting and the species they represent. 🦉🐐🦨

We had our zoo licence inspection recently, and the inspectors were **very impressed with the signage**, which made all the work that has gone into them even more worthwhile. 🤎

And I have to say… I think they have come out absolutely beautiful! 🥰

There’s something really special about having each of the animals represented individually, and I love that they have been made from a natural material and fit so nicely into the surroundings here at Fiáin.

A huge thank you to my friend for putting so much time and skill into creating these for us. 🌿🤎

Now I just need to get them all up around the site! 😂
