It’s National Breastfeeding Week! 💜

To mark National Breastfeeding Week, we’re highlighting We’re Breastfeeding Friendly Louth and the welcoming spaces available to breastfeeding families across County Louth.

CommUnity Connect Louth and Meath Champion Training💚

We had a fantastic day on Monday at Creative Spark for our CommUnity Connect Champion Training Day, a collaborative initiative delivered through and in partnership with Louth County Council and Meath County Council.

CommUnity Connect is a community-based positive mental health initiative that promotes wellbeing, connection and awareness of the supports and services available across both counties.

The Louth training day brought together a wonderful group of community champions, creating an energising atmosphere of learning, sharing and collaboration. Participants had the opportunity to hear from a range of expert speakers, including representatives from
• Louth PPN
• Mental Health Ireland
• HSE Ireland National Office for Su***de Prevention - Louth & Meath
• Healthy Ireland Local Government – Healthy Louth & Sláintecare
• Louth Library Service
• Louth Local Development – Social Prescribing
• HSE Ireland – Sláintecare Team

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the day. The genuine willingness to share knowledge, experiences and ideas created a strong sense of community and demonstrated the incredible work taking place across Louth and Meath every day. It was inspiring to see so many people united by a shared commitment to supporting wellbeing and strengthening connections within their communities.

Finally, a sincere thank you to Solstice Media Ltd for capturing the spirit of the day so beautifully. It was a pleasure to work with Elaine and the team, and we look forward to sharing some of the wonderful moments they helped document.📸

An absolutely incredible morning on Thursday 10th September to mark World Su***de Prevention Day – it’s difficult to effectively capture the atmosphere this event created – the support, inspiration and hope that resonated with attendees and service providers alike.
I cannot thank everyone enough for coming together to make this happen - with 40 service providers from across the county in attendance.
I was blown away by our amazing MC Kenneth Egan OLY, effortless professionalism teamed with down to earth compassionate story telling.
Together with our phenomenal speakers - Patrice Matthews from SAFE Castlebellingham, Derek Pepper from Shine and Joanna O'Dwyer. Their honesty, integrity, advice and support was just so heartfelt and genuine – I think it really resonated with everyone on so many levels. You could hear a pin drop as they told their stories, with standing ovations from everyone in the room.

I feel so fortunate that my role as Healthy Louth Coordinator facilitates creating events like this, and thank you to Louth County Council for supporting me on this initiative and to Cllr Shane McGuinness for attending to open the event.
Thank you to all the lovely staff from our Community Office and our Communications Team in the council, for assisting with the event management, the team work was flawless and the enthusiasm was unwavering.
And a huge thank you to the amazing Rosaleen Dolan who is the HSE Resource Worker for Su***de Prevention for Louth and Meath – who was with us every step of the way in the planning of this event.
Finally, thank you to the Monasterboice Inn for their incredible hospitality and assistance, on the run up to the event and on the day itself. Their staff were exceptional.
Such a positive and uplifting event. We need to continue the conversations, talk about mental health and promote compassion and understanding.
