At this wedding, guests asked both me and the couple whether we already knew each other — the ceremony felt that personal. 🤍

It was such a lovely thing to hear, because so much of my work happens before the day itself. Through conversations and thoughtful questions, we explore your story, your vows, rituals and ways to include the people you love.

Those details help me write words you recognise yourselves in, with room for laughter, tenderness and everything that makes your story yours.

“Some even thought that Kamila was a family member or long-time friend.” 🥹🤍

I think that might be one of the loveliest compliments I could receive about a ceremony.

Sofia & Daire, thank you for trusting me with all of it — and for this gorgeous review. It was such an honour to marry you! 🤍✨

I still have a few ceremonies lined up this year, but I’m starting to come out of my busiest season so far. After months of getting to know people and telling so many incredible stories, I caught myself thinking about why I became a celebrant in the first place.

I think it’s because there’s something extraordinary about gathering people together and saying, “Let’s stop for a moment. This part of our lives matters.”

We mark milestones with rituals and ceremonies because we want to share them. We want the people we love to witness who we are, what we’ve been through and what we’re choosing next. And telling our stories is such a big part of how we get to be seen.

I’m Brazilian, I live in Ireland, and I’m a q***r woman. I know how much it can mean to hear your language spoken, to see your family reflected, or simply to be somewhere you feel you belong.

Representation, inclusion and visibility are personal to me. They shape how I listen, the questions I ask and the ceremonies I create.

I became a celebrant to help people feel seen in the moments they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. And after this season, I feel very lucky that I get to do that. 🤍

Two countries. Two families. And a return to the place where it all began. 🇧🇷🇮🇪

There was something special about Fernanda & Colm choosing The K Club for their wedding — because almost four years earlier, it was here that their paths first crossed. Their ceremony was designed to honour everything that has happened since.

Their story was told with plenty of laughter and tenderness. Loved ones no longer physically present were quietly remembered. Their friends shared readings in both Portuguese and English, including the beautiful Soneto da Fidelidade by Vinicius de Moraes.

And after making their legal declarations, we moved to the symbolic with a handfasting cord specially created in the colours of the Brazilian and Irish flags — binding their hands around the things at the heart of their marriage: family, friendship, trust and togetherness.

Then came one of my favorite details: Colm’s daughter bringing their rings on a cushion already woven into the family’s history, having been used at a family wedding years before.

My favourite ceremonies are the ones where traditions aren’t added just for the sake of having them — every element tells us something about the people standing in front of us. This one did exactly that.

Fernanda & Colm, what an honor to tell your story and send you off into married life together! Vida longa ao amor lindo de vocês.❤️

Still thinking about this one. 🥹 About how powerful it was to stop in the middle of a marriage already being lived and saying: this deserves to be celebrated. ❤️

One year after becoming wives in Rio, Talita & Isla stood together again — this time in Ireland, surrounded by the people who have loved them, shaped them and walked alongside them. Their ceremony moved between English and Portuguese and held so many pieces of who they are.

We remembered beloved grandparents and the roots that brought them here. We honoured the q***r love stories that helped make moments like theirs possible. We cried and laughed our way through their early days of Instagram flirting, a 15h first date, moving countries, chaotic apartments, puppies and two beautiful proposals.

They wrote letters to their future selves and tucked them away inside a Memory Box. We captured a little piece of the ceremony on a disposable camera — a moment to rediscover years from now.

And then came Frankie & Ollie, quite possibly the cutest ring bearers ever, making an entrance of their own with the rings. 🐾

What a day, you two! May you keep finding home in each other wherever life takes you. Here’s to all that you’ve already built — and to everything still to come. Thank you for letting me tell such a gorgeous story!

Wives then. Wives now. Wives always.
Esposas ontem, hoje e sempre. ❤️

Mariana and Stephen got married at a cocktail bar, but they brought their loved ones together well before I arrived.

Exhibit A: their handfasting cord! The bride and her now mother-in-law made it together, weaving the chosen fabrics into the cord we used to tie the knot.

Exhibit B: The Flowers! The night before the wedding, both families got together and built the floral arrangements from botanical LEGO. Yes. LEGO, you read it right! 🤩

But beyond how fun and incredibly them that is, I loved what it represented. So much of this wedding was made with people rather than simply presented to them.

And that spirit continued into the day itself. English and Portuguese were woven throughout so everyone could experience the stories and rituals. Their handfasting was followed by oath stones collected in Bray — including a little one for Phoebe, their furry baby, because of course she is every bit a member of this little family too. 🐾❤️

Phoebe then earned her keep by serving as ring bearer, and they exchanged rings made by the same maker of the Claddagh ring once gifted to Mari by Steve.

Everywhere you looked, there was a little piece of them. Their nerdy sides. Phoebe. And a relationship built as much in long walks and doing the chores together as in the big adventures.

This is what personal ceremonies can look like. Not adding traditions because you’re “supposed to”. Choosing, making and adapting things until every detail has a reason for being there. And these two absolutely understood the assignment. ❤️

Almost a week ago, Sofia & Daire stood surrounded by their favourite people at Killeen Castle and promised to keep doing something they’ve been doing for years: choosing each other. 🤍

Their ceremony moved between English and Spanish, with pieces of Ireland and Peru woven into the rituals they chose. Four handfasting cords represented growth, wisdom, prosperity and trust — the final one an actual blue climbing cord, reflecting the activity that has taught them so much about trusting one another.

For their vows, they placed their hands on an oath stone from Coumshingaun Lough, one of their favourite places to hike and camp in Waterford. And while we signed their marriage papers, two cultures came together through music too: Sofia’s dad played El Cóndor Pasa on the Peruvian quena while Daire’s dad accompanied him on guitar. 🇵🇪🇮🇪

There were stories of freezing Irish sea swims, a ten-minute proposal in Spanish at sunrise in Colorado… and pancakes afterwards, obviously. 😂

But underneath all the adventures, there’s something simple and gorgeous about these two: they know how to show up for one another. They’ve learned how to encourage, how to listen, and perhaps that’s the heart of their story. The team was already there. We just made it official. ❤️

Beautiful words from a beautiful couple. 🤍 It was such an honour to be part of Nitya & William’s wedding journey, from our very first meeting to their beautiful ceremony.

Their words are a beautiful reminder of why creating a ceremony that feels personal and meaningful matters so much. Thank you for trusting me to be there every step of the way.✨

During every ceremony I create, there’s a moment when the heart of a couple’s story seems to reveal itself. For Isabella & Owen, that heart was ‘home’. Not a particular place, but the sense of home they’ve found in one another. 🤍

We gathered at Barberstown Castle surrounded by their favourite people, with loved ones travelling from Brazil, the US, France and across Ireland to be there. And what a beautiful gathering it was!

Their ceremony moved gently between English and Portuguese, and we told the story of two people from opposite sides of the Atlantic brought together by a really good algorithm. 😉 We went back to a first date at the Bar With No Name, their first trip to Edinburgh, Owen learning Portuguese so he could speak to Isabella’s family, and eventually a very cold proposal overlooking Guinness Lake.

For their Unity Candle, Isabella & Owen lit two flames representing the lives and culture that shaped them. Then they then brought those flames together to light one Family Candle — not leaving behind who they were, but creating something new alongside it. 🇧🇷🇮🇪

Owen’s grandfather carried their rings. They exchanged personal vows. And when it came time to sign their marriage papers, their mums discovered they had secretly been chosen as the official witnesses! 🥹 English met Portuguese. Ireland met Brazil. There were tears, plenty of laughs.. and eventually, Mr & Mrs Watkins-Duffy. ✨
