Welcome to Sea Angling in the West of Ireland

Sea angling in Ireland is organised on a Provincial basis by the Irish Federation of Sea Anglers . This is the site of the Connaught Council of the Federation . We cater for boat & shore fishing within the province for all age groups & abilities . We (that is the affiliated clubs) organise local competitions and also larger events to qualify anglers from clubs within the Province for Irish national teams & inter-Provincial team events. The listed club contacts will give details of their competitions as shown on the list of 2011 competitions. All competitions & club events are fished to conservation rules . We welcome new members & in particular younger participants . Contact details for our Youth Officer are listed on our contacts webpage .

Last month Corrane S.A.C hosted the Pat O’Hara Connaught Closed Gold Medal Boat.

12 anglers took part in the competition and were split between two boats for the day. In total 626 fish were caught between the anglers, a great result!

Congratulations to Brian Faulkner of Killala Boat and Shore on his well deserved win👏

A big thanks to the hosts, Corrane S.A.C, for such a well organised event, the boat owners, and to all the anglers who made the journey west on the day!
