A short clip of Mike singing and playing ‘Fisherman’s Blues’ later in the evening of last Friday’s Open Mic in Mooney’s. Kevin, Chris and Ciarán expertly joined in also on their guitars and Ali brewed up a storm on violin. The extra loud ‘Whoo-hoo-hoos’ were provided by the rest of us. 😂💖

Always great to get a chance to hear my little sister Trudi sing. A snippet of her in action at last night’s Lovely Laois Homecoming Festival Gala Dinner, beautifully accompanied by the Matrimony Band with harmonies by the always fabulous Annette Doyle. 💖

What an amazing evening we had at the Lovely Laois Homecoming Festival Gala Dinner last night in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise. Great food, music and company!

A fabulous moment was seeing Noel Burke, The Arc Project founders Michelle Robertson and David Delaney and Tom Duffy - the very deserving recipients of Unsung Hero Awards - along with the celebrated Laois descendant, Eileen Dunne, being piped into the room by Abbeyleix’s own wonderful Cormac Bowell.

A beautiful night of celebrating the best of Laois and its people!

Well done on your vision and ex*****on of this wonderful festival Trudi Lalor. May it go from strength to strength. 💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍
