“Mamma, I’d like to stay for the whole school year” he said.
The mother had expected him to say this so it didn’t come as a surprise, but she could feel her heart sink a little.
Of course she’s delighted for him, I mean isn’t it great that he’s doing so well? And she’s so grateful that both schools are so supportive. This is a good thing, it’s wonderful in fact. She feels very proud, but the tears keep rolling down her cheeks..❤️

🌲I’m now taking orders for Christmas cakes🌲 It’s that wonderful time of year again when I start to plan my Christmas baking and make those yummy fruit cakes so they can mature in time for Christmas.
All cakes are iced with homemade marsipan and royal icing 🌟 And they all come gift wrapped 🎁

And I will be making the 3 different sizes again this year; the 5” round (ideal for a couple of small household), 2lbs loaf and 8” round.
Orders are limited and will be taken until mid November. Feel free to get in touch to place an order😊

Happy international cinnamon bun day! My favourite pastry to bake and eat💛 I read that about 7 million cinnamon buns will be sold in Sweden today. I think that shows how loved this sweet bun is.
I always keep a bag or 2 in the freezer for ourselves, then just warm them up as needed. Perfect to bring along when having a picnic or as an after school treat.
We usually finish our Sunday breakfast with a croissant, but today the kitchen will smell of freshly ground coffee, bread and sweet cinnamon🤎 Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday

Last day of September🧡 a month I usually love, but this year I’ve struggled a little. It’s still feels strange that Shion isn’t here. Even if I’m so happy for him that he’s getting on so well in Sweden and I love our weekly chats when he tells me everything he’s been up to, I have to admit that I have shed quite a few tears and felt very tired.
But the beautiful weather and spending time in nature has definitely helped. So has baking.
Watching my children when they play on the hammocks, Alma’s face when she opened her birthday gifts or listening to Yushin telling me stories has he pretends to catch fish, all these moments have kept the mother smiling❤️
And she will welcome October with light heart 🍁
