With Halloween coming up we would ask people not to give household rubbish to young kids. Fires are being lit all over the estate and it costs us money to clear it up.
We would especially ask people to talk to their kids about the dangers of fire and fireworks
The bonfire site has new housing on it and we don't want people the living in fear of fire on their doorstep.
If we all play a part we can keep everyone safe

There is a lone hawthorn standing in a field in almost every county in Ireland, and the farmer ploughs a wide circle around it. Cutting it down was said to bring ill luck on the house, the herd and sometimes the whole family. The old people called it the gentle bush, because the fairies were thought to hold their gatherings beneath it.

The belief has held far longer than most people expect. Within living memory, road engineers have diverted new roads around fairy thorns, and building crews have refused to touch them. Stories of machines that broke down and workmen who fell ill after a thorn was moved are still told in the pubs of Clare and Antrim.

Whatever one makes of the fairies, the thorn tells you something about the Irish landscape. A tree that survives in the middle of a field for centuries does so because generations of people agreed to leave it alone. That is a kind of memory, standing in the open air.

After a lot of hard work by the Fassaroe Estate Forum we are delighted the playground in Fassaroe has finally re-opened. We had lots of emails and meetings with the council engineer and council administrator to make sure this happened. Just wish we could have gotten it sooner but the contractor moved very slowly. We will keep on top of this to get the equipment replaced and upgraded as soon as possible

A partial solar eclipse will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, 12 August.
Looking directly at the sun can cause serious and permanent eye damage. If you plan to view the eclipse, always use certified solar eclipse glasses or a solar viewer and make sure children are supervised.
Ordinary sunglasses are not safe for viewing an eclipse. Never look directly at the sun through binoculars or a telescope.
Protect your eyes and enjoy the eclipse safely.

He has implemented the road safety plan that is a condition of the planning.
He has assured us that a flag man will be in place for heavy vehicles coming in and out of the main entrance allowing these vehicles to only drive at walking pace.
Traffic monitoring will also be implemented at blind lane.
Broaders well is to be protected from any construction damage as is the grotto

All new safety signage is to be placed along route and clearly visible to traffic.
Any issues or concerns that need attention immediately should be reported to the resource center so we can deal with them immediately.
