Belgian Red Devils arrived in the USA! The preparation for this year’s FIFA World Cup has already started. Their first match of the group stage will be held on Monday; 15th of June at 21:00. Wishing them good luck!

Ambassador De Baets had the opportunity to visit the sunny island of Hvar, where he met with Mayor of Šime Ravlić.
They discussed opportunities for cultural, economic, and sports cooperation, as well as sustainable tourism and local development. The Ambassador also explored Hvar’s rich cultural heritage and expressed great admiration for the island’s beauty and way of life.
Also present at the meeting were Jelena Mićić, Director of the HVAR 1612 Public Cultural Institution, and Adela Duboković, Head of the Škoji, local action group.
It was also an occasion to meet with the Belgians residing on the island and meet with Bart Moayert from Belgium who participated in the Jesla Children's FestiVAL in Jesla.

Veleposlanik De Baets imao je priliku posjetiti sunčani otok Hvar, gdje se susreo s gradonačelnikom Šimom Ravlićem.
Razgovarali su o mogućnostima kulturne, gospodarske i sportske suradnje, kao i o održivom turizmu i lokalnom razvoju. Veleposlanik je također upoznao bogatu kulturnu baštinu Hvara te izrazio veliko divljenje ljepoti otoka i načinu života na njemu.
Na sastanku su bile prisutne i Jelena Mićić, ravnateljica Javne ustanove u kulturi HVAR 1612, te Adela Duboković, voditeljica lokalne akcijske grupe Škoji.
Ovo je ujedno bila i prilika za susret s Belgijcima koji žive na otoku, kao i s Bartom Moeyaertom iz Belgije, koji je sudjelovao na Dječji festiVAL Jelsa.

Ambassador De Baets had the pleasure to meet with the local community, young people and women in Grad Pag and exchange about the importance and challenges of diversity, identity and dialogue, together with the Belgian director and director of Film Festival Brussels, Marie Vermeiren.
A nice collaboration with Danijela Stanojević and Wallonie-Bruxelles International for the first edition of the project “Budi novi svijet” on the occasion of the Women’s film festival Zagreb 2026.

A great display of Belgian–Croatian friendship, felt both on the pitch between the players and echoed in the stands, where the shared spirit of the game brought fans together in Rijeka. The victory against a spirited Croatia was an excellent test for the Belgian Red Devils but also for the Blazers ahead of the upcoming World Cup. Congratulations, and on to new victories!

Veličanstven prikaz belgijsko-hrvatskog prijateljstva, osjetio se i na terenu među igračima i odražavao se na tribinama, gdje je zajednički duh igre okupio navijače u Rijeci.
