========================
Tai Wai (formerly known as Chik Chun Wai) is the oldest and largest walled village in Hong Kong’s Sha Tin District. It is one of the “Nine Subdistricts of Sha Tin” and has been established at its current location since the early Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1574). The village still retains its original gate and land features. At the base of the village lies the Hau Wong Temple, one of the major temples in the Sha Tin area.
This time, we’ll bring along our art supplies and enjoy a leisurely tour of this historic walled village in the city, while exploring local delights and hidden gems.
