If by philosophical research one cannot come to the point of understanding the Supreme Person, then his task is not finished. His search in knowledge is still to be continued until he comes to the point of understanding the Supreme Lord in devotional service.

देहिनोऽस्मिन्यथा देहे कौमारं यौवनं जरा ।
तथा देहान्तरप्राप्तिर्धीरस्तत्र न मुह्यति ॥१३॥

dehino ‘smin yathā dehe
kaumāraṁ yauvanaṁ jarā
tathā dehāntara-prāptir
dhīras tatra na muhyati

dehinaḥ——被身體所困的；asmin——在這；yathā——如；dehe——在身體中；kaumāram——童年；yauvanam——青年；jarā——老年；tathā——同樣地；dehāntara——身體的變動；prāptiḥ——成就；dhīraḥ——清醒的人；tatra——為此；na——永不；muhyati——被惑。

譯文

體困的靈魂，在軀體中，經歷童年青年，終至老年，死後離開這軀體，到另一軀體去。自覺的靈魂不會爲此變化所眩惑。

manaḥ-prasādaḥ saumyatvaṁ
maunam ātma-vinigrahaḥ
bhāva-saṁśuddhir ity etat
tapo mānasam ucyate

manaḥ-prasādaḥ——心意的滿足；saumyatvam——沒有對別人口是心非；maunam——穩重；ātma——自我；vinigrahaḥ——控制；bhāva——本性；saṁśuddhiḥ——淨化；iti——如此；etat——那是；tapaḥ——修行；mānasam——心意的；ucyate——據說。

譯文

寧靜、簡樸、沉着、自制及思想純一都是心意的修練。
