Good news!📣 Hong Kong has retained its ranking as the world’s No.3 international financial centre and No.1 in the Asia-Pacific region, according to the latest Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) 40 Report published yesterday (Sep 16) by Z/Yen and the China Development Institute. Hong Kong also continued to rank first globally for fintech offerings. This outstanding result reaffirms the city’s strengths as a leading global financial hub. Among the areas of competitiveness, Hong Kong rose to first place worldwide in 'financial sector development', while retaining second place for 'human capital'. Hong Kong's ranking in 'business environment' and 'infrastructure' also rose to second place. Hong Kong will continue to play its role as a “super connector” and “super value-adder”, striving to create a stable and secure investment environment for global investors to meet their growing demand for diversified asset allocation.

BREAKING: Chief Executive John Lee today (Sep 16) announced his annual Policy Address, alongside his unveiling of Hong Kong’s First Five Year Plan for Economic and Social Development (2026-2030) (Five-Year Plan). The aims to support the implementation of measures unveiled in the Five-Year Plan. These include reinforcing economic strength and vitality, including through the promotion of the “Four Centres and One Hub” concept. A priority under this concept is to strengthen the city’s diversified development in areas such as offshore Renminbi (RMB) business, stock market, and emerging sectors including tokenised products and commodity trading.

HKSAR passport holders can enter Thailand without a visa and stay up to 30 days per entry.
