【平等機會委員會：輪椅體驗工作坊🧑🏻🦽】
平等機會委員會（EOC）最近與Wheel Real Experience 合作舉辦了一場以輪椅體驗為主題的共融工作坊，旨在加深對服務主流大眾與殘疾小眾的同理心，在香港的社會中面臨的障礙與挑戰。五大核心Modules 為參加者強化同理心，理解主流大眾與殘疾小眾之間的衝突，與通用設計概念如何實踐兩者之間的共融：
1. 認識肢體殘疾人士：了解肢體殘疾人士社群在社會中的處境與遇到的歧視、標籤及刻板印象。
2. 身臨其境的體驗：輪椅體驗模擬身體障礙，讓參加者在體驗公共設施、商場及高密度人口及人流的香港的城市特色與設計中真切感受障礙人士的困難。
3. 俱政策反思與倡議的真人圖書館分享：聆聽身心障礙人士的真實故事，了解他們在香港社會生活的真實處境與探討背後涉及殘疾小眾的政策、資源分配。
4. 通用設計與輔助技術介紹：透過科技創新產品展示通用設計如何為主流大眾與殘疾小眾在社會層面實踐彼此間的平等相處。
5. 反思與應用：與參加者從輪椅體驗中被歧視後所建立的同理心討論如何在工作中實踐及應用以主流大眾與殘疾小眾之間之間的利益。

【Equal Opportunities Commission: Wheelchair Experience Workshop 🧑🏻🦽】
The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) recently collaborated with Wheel Real Experience to host an inclusive workshop themed around wheelchair experiences. The aim is to deepen officer’s empathy towards both the mainstream public and the marginalized community of persons with disabilities (PWDs), highlighting the barriers and challenges faced in Hong Kong society.
The five core modules strengthen empathy among participants, helping them understand the conflicts between the mainstream public and PWDs, and how the concept of universal design can foster inclusion:
1. Understanding Physical Disabilities: Learn about the situations faced by the community of persons with physical disabilities, including discrimination, labeling, and stereotypes.
2. Wheelchair Experience: The wheelchair simulation allows participants to experience the difficulties faced by PWDs in public facilities, malls, and the densely populated urban environment of Hong Kong.
3. Human Library Sharing & Advocacy: Listen to real stories from persons with disabilities, gaining insight into their actual circumstances in Hong Kong society and discussing related policies and resource allocation affecting the disabled community.
4. Introduction to Universal Design and Assistive Technology: Through innovative technological products, demonstrate how universal design can promote equality between the mainstream public and PWDs at a societal level.
5. Reflection and Application: Participants discuss how to apply the empathy gained from their wheelchair experience, particularly in addressing discrimination, to foster mutual benefits between the mainstream public and PWDs.
