🇸🇮✨ Success Stories from Slovenia | Part 2

How can circular economy principles create new business opportunities from textile materials?

Today, we present two more Slovenian companies that explored this challenge through VERDEinMED with the support of mentor KNOF so.p.:

3️⃣ CPU
➡️ Developed a clearer strategy to turn non-selling textiles into valuable resources, identifying reuse and upcycling pathways, new market opportunities and potential B2B partnerships.

4️⃣ FONATERM
➡️ Advanced the development and market uptake of a new textile-based insulation solution through a roadmap integrating circularity, market positioning, certification and financing.

Both cases demonstrate how circular thinking can support not only environmental goals, but also stronger market positioning and new business opportunities. 🌱

💡 Key takeaway from the VERDEinMED mentoring programme

After supporting 10 Italian textile companies on their sustainability journey, one message stands out:

📊 You can't improve what you don't measure.

Whether the challenge is chemical management, supply-chain transparency, water consumption, energy efficiency or greenhouse gas emissions, meaningful progress begins with understanding where you are today.

Through tailored mentoring and practical tools, VERDEinMED has helped textile SMEs identify their impacts, define priorities and develop concrete roadmaps for continuous improvement.

Because sustainability is not a destination — it's a process of learning, measuring and improving. ♻️
