30 YEARS OF UDP — BUT WHAT HAS THE PARTY REALLY ACHIEVED?

30 years of the UDP favouring the old guard.

30 years of attacking political opponents instead of building bridges.

30 years of losing young, talented and promising leaders along the way.

30 years of shouting, making noise and making big political claims but where are the results?

After 30 years, Gambians have every right to ask:

What has the UDP actually done for The Gambia?

What has the UDP achieved in 30 years?

How many lives have been transformed?

How many young people have been empowered?

How many lasting national projects can we point to?

What concrete legacy has the party built?

Political longevity is not the same as political achievement.
You can celebrate 30 years, but after three decades, the people are entitled to demand answers.

30 years is enough time to show results.

For me, the UDP's 30th anniversary is not just a celebration, it is a moment to ask some very serious questions about leadership, consistency, results and the future of The Gambia.
Noise is not development.

Promises are not achievements.

And 30 years in politics is not a qualification to lead a country.
Gambians deserve results, not just rhetoric.

It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Aunty Rohey Colley.

She was the beloved sister of Agie Krubally and the mother of Aja Secka, Pa Abdoulie Jaiteh, and Sainabou Secka Fidaw.
The funeral prayer (Janazah) will be held tomorrow at 9:00 AM at London Corner Mosque, Marche Ngelew.

The burial will take place at 10:00 AM at Serekunda Cemetery.
May Allah forgive her shortcomings, have mercy upon her soul, illuminate her grave, and grant her Jannatul Firdaus.

May Allah grant strength, patience, and comfort to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Since then, we have not seen or heard from him. Some people say, What did you expect? They're from the same village.
Whether or not that is true, only official statements from the parties involved can confirm any political decision. The National People's Party (NPP) is known by its supporters as the party of peace, under the leadership of President Adama Barrow. If Honourable Mama Kandeh ever decides to join the NPP, he would be welcomed by many supporters. Until then, it is important to rely on official announcements rather than rumours. Peace, unity, and respect for the truth should always come first.

Landing Koteh an iconic community and opinion leader, and Ebou Darboe a youth leader within the UDP’s regional structures both defected during a grassroots meeting held in their home town of Banjulunding this Friday evening,
July 10, 2026.

Speaking at a meeting organised by women and youth groups who adopted NPP Youth President Momodou Sabally as their honorary father, Landing Koteh expressed his support for President Barrow and asked villagers to vote for the NPP in the upcoming December election. A delegation led by Deputy Speaker and NPP Executive Member Hon. The NPP media team needs to become more professional. Effective political communication requires people with experience in media, journalism, broadcasting, public relations, and strategic communication.

The party should prioritize qualified individuals who can write effectively, communicate confidently, and represent the party professionally across all media platforms. Political messaging is too important to be left to people who lack the necessary skills and experience.

Another question that deserves an answer is: What happened to the OB van and the media studio that were established to promote the party’s agenda? If these resources exist, why are they not being fully utilized to strengthen the party’s communication?

If the NPP is serious about improving its public image, it must invest in competent professionals and make proper use of the resources it has already acquired.

Some supporters believe that the President’s achievements are not being communicated effectively. Whether that is due to poor strategy, lack of professionalism, or underutilization of available resources, it is an issue the party leadership should honestly assess. Constructive criticism is essential if the party wants to improve.
