𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑 -𝑺𝒐𝒊𝒍𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒊𝒕 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒏𝒖𝒕 1.0 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒆

Finally, the big milestone has successfully been convened. A national validation workshop on Wednesday the 22nd April 2026 at the NaNA Conference Hall in Bakau, bringing together over 60 participants from all sectors (Government, Local Authorities, Private Sector, Research and Academia, Farmers and Farmer Organisations, Youths, Financial Partners, and Relevant Technical Partners) to review and validate findings of the SoilProfit Groundnut 1.0 project.

We are grateful that this workshop attracted a broader range of stakeholders, including even International Partners from (TerraCalco Senegal). The gathering served as an important platform for inclusive dialogue and collaborative assessment of the project’s outcomes.

The primary objective of the workshop was to present and validate the project’s findings, while incorporating stakeholders input into the Stocktaking reports and recommendations for a National SCALE-UP. Discussions focused on ensuring that the outcomes reflect national priorities, NDP, NAIPs,etc and are aligned with Regional and International International Frameworks like the CAADP KAMPALA DECLARATION, the ECOWAP, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of sustainable and resilient Food Systems, Soil Health, Protection and Maintenance.

The event was officially opened by Mr. Ebrima Jarra, Executive Director of The Soil Solution, who emphasised the importance of Multi-Stakeholder engagement in advancing agricultural innovation and sustainability in The Gambia.

Participants actively participated, contributed and provided insights and recommendations aimed at strengthening the project’s impact and ensuring its relevance to local farming communities. The validation process marks a key milestone in the SoilProfit Groundnut 1.0 project, reinforcing a shared commitment on Soil Health-Driven Intervention for a sustainable food production and resilient food system Nationwide.

𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑺𝑶𝑰𝑳 𝑺𝑶𝑳𝑼𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵 𝑩𝑶𝑨𝑹𝑫 𝑴𝑬𝑬𝑻𝑰𝑵𝑮, 𝑨𝑷𝑹𝑰𝑳 2026.

Under the leadership of our Executive Director, Mr. Jarra, The Soil Solution (TSS) successfully convened a Two-Day Board Meeting (4th - 5th April, 2026), marking a significant milestone in our journey of growth, reflection, and strategic realignment.

Over the course of the two days, our Board of Directors and Management Team engaged in productive discussions reviewing the organisation’s progress which includes, the restoration of over 100 hectares of degraded soils, impacting farmers and communities across The Gambia.

The meeting provided an opportunity to:
✅ Reflect on key achievements and lessons learned.
✅ Strengthen governance and institutional structures.
✅ Validate our strategic direction for 2026–2031.
✅ Identify priority programmes for scaling impact.
✅ Reinforce our commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainability.

As we move forward, The Soil Solution is poised to transition from impactful projects to scalable, systems-driven solutions focused on soil health, regenerative agriculture, climate resilience, and youth and women empowerment in the agrifood system.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our Board Members for their leadership, guidance, and renewed commitment to the organisation’s mission.

Together, we are building a future where healthy soils sustain thriving communities.

Today 31st March, 2026, our team under the leadership of our Executive Director and Chair of our Board of Directors, met with the Chinese Embassy, under Audience, the conversation was centred on exploring potential areas of partnerships and collaboration.

Key focused of the discussions were centred on the promotion of scientific innovation and technology, and strengthening research capacities, trainings and exchange programs. And, expanding on the China-Gambia Cooperation framework.

In fostering a strong partnership that drives sustainable development and innovation our office remains committed in building partnerships that works both nationally and internationally.

At the Desertif'Actions Summit 2026 in Tunisia, our Operations Officer, Abdoul Aziz Sidibe, is not only representing our work but actively contributing to global dialogue.
Beyond delivering his presentation, he played a key role as an interpreter during a high-level side event, facilitating discussions among leading organizations including Drynet, IUCN, CARI, GEF, Both ENDS, WOCAT, and diverse CSO panels from across regions.

This reflects our growing role in bridging knowledge, amplifying voices, and driving global action on land restoration.
