A mother and daughter have made history at the United States Naval Academy.

Retired Navy Captain Timika Lindsay (Class of '92) and her daughter, Ensign Elise Lindsay (Class of '23), just became the first African American mother-daughter duo to graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy in its 177-year history.

This achievement is a testament to immense grit and determination. The U.S. Naval Academy is notoriously brutal, combining elite engineering degrees with intense physical training, strict military discipline, and high-pressure leadership trials. Surviving this grueling four-year crucible requires peak mental and physical endurance—and both of these women conquered it.

From 30 years of dedicated service to a new generation of leadership, this is the ultimate definition of a legacy. Congratulations to this powerhouse duo on breaking barriers and inspiring future generations of leaders! ⚓️💼
