Today, The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Mr. Kurt Okraku paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Education to discuss the national team's successful qualification for the
FIFA World Cup and University for Development studies winning 2025 FISU world University Championship. The meeting highlighted the role of education and youth development in nurturing football talent across the country, as well as future collaborations between the Ministry and the GFA to strengthen sports education and infrastructure.
I urge the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to take Senior High School, colleges and universities sports more seriously. These institutions are the breeding grounds for young talent, and investing in their development will strengthen the foundation of Ghana’s sports—especially football. By supporting inter-school competitions, scouting programs, and providing adequate resources, we can nurture the next generation of national athletes and ensure the sustained growth of sports in the country.
