CRIPS REOPENS.

The Executive Director of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG), Dr. Kofi Owusu Domfeh, has welcomed pupils of the Cocoa Research Institute Primary School (CRIPS) to the new academic year at a reopening parade held on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, at the school’s forecourt.

Addressing the pupils during the ceremony, Dr. Domfeh urged them to remain disciplined, dedicated and committed to their education, stressing that academic excellence, coupled with discipline and determination, would position them to realise their dreams and aspirations.

Dr. Mrs Esther Gyedu Akoto, Deputy Executive Director incharge of Cashew, shea and Coffee commended the teachers and Management of CRIPS for their continued dedication, guidance and commitment to the academic and personal development of the pupils. She also encouraged the pupils to prioritise their studies so that they can become successful leaders in the future.
Honoring its annual ritual, pupils were presented with a bar of chocolate each.

CRIG CRÈCHE HOLDS 7TH GRADUATION CEREMONY.

The CRIG Crèche on Tuesday, 25th August 2026, held its 7th Graduation Ceremony in a colourful celebration to mark the successful completion of the early childhood education journey of pupils transitioning to Kindergarten.

Held at the school premises, the ceremony brought together the Executive Director of CRIG, Management members, the Crèche Board, staff, parents and invited guests to celebrate this important milestone in the lives of the young graduands.
The event featured a series of exciting performances, including modelling, drama, recitals and a beautiful choir ministration, as the pupils showcased their confidence, creativity and talents. The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of certificates to the young graduates as they took another important step in their educational journey.
The Executive Director of CRIG Dr. Kofi Owusu Domfeh, congratulated the graduands and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence as they embark on the next stage of their educational journey.

TCDA DELEGATION VISITS CRIG TO STRENGTHEN SHEA AND CASHEW COLLABORATION

The Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA), led by its Chief Executive Officer, Dr Andy Osei Okrah, has engaged the Management of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) to strengthen collaboration in research and development for the cashew and shea sectors.

The meeting, held on Friday, 21 August 2026, focused on research into diseases affecting cashew and shea production and the development of practical solutions to enhance productivity and quality.

The Executive Director of CRIG, Dr Kofi Owusu Domfeh, welcomed the delegation and highlighted the Institute’s research activities, expressing optimism that continued collaboration between the two institutions would contribute to improving cashew and shea production.

Dr Andy Osei Okrah, speaking on behalf of the TCDA delegation, noted the transformative potential of the partnership in advancing the cashew and shea industries.

Also present were Dr Daniel Nyadanu, Deputy Executive Director of CRIG (Cocoa & Kola); Rev. Edwin Afari, Director, COCOBOD; and Dr Rich Kofitou, Deputy CEO, TCDA.

*2026 BATCH OF NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL- COCOBOD (NASPAC) VISITS CRIG*

About 200 COCOBOD National Service Personnel, on 14th August 2026, visited the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) for an educational and fun trip.

The visit gave the personnel practical lessons about cocoa research, the pre and post production of cocoa, and all other works being done to improve Ghana’s cocoa industry.

CRIG ORGANISES ENTREPRENEURIAL SEMINAR FOR NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL

The Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) has held an entrepreneurial seminar for the 2025/2026 National Service Personnel (NSP) at the CRIG Recreational Center, New Tafo-Akim.
Addressing the personnel, the Deputy Human Resource Manager, Ms. Linda Adomaa Amoah on behalf of the Executive Director and Management commended them for their service to the industry and stressed the quality of knowledge they acquired at CRIG have made them ready for the job market and corporate world.
She encouraged them to make good choices of the entrepreneurial skills imparted to develop interest in career opportunities in entrepreneurship and agribusiness.
Ms. Amoah urged that they become ambassadors of the products of CRIG including, cocoa butter pomade, shea butter pomade, cocoa butter soap among others.
The training programme was facilitated by the Students Affairs Committee, CRIG to equip outgoing personnel with the needed tools to entrepreneurship and how to succeed at job interviews.

CRIG HOLDS 34TH ANNUAL REVIEW MEETING

The 34th Annual Review Meeting of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) is currently in progress at the Conference room of the newly constructed Flavour Laboratory facility at New Tafo Akim.

The programme which commenced yesterday, Tuesday 19th May, 2026 and is expected to end on Thursday 21st May, 2026 brought together scientists from CRIG’s scientific divisions, academia and sister research organizations to discuss 2025/2026 progress reports and work plans for the ensuing crop year. Also present are members of the CRIG Management Committee.

In all, fifty-three (53) presentations will be delivered by Scientists from the existing Thrust Systems of the Institute: Soil and Crop Management, Post-Harvest Quality Management, Crop Improvement, Insect Pests Management, System Assessment and Analysis and Plant Diseases Management

NIGERIAN MILITARY DELEGATION PAYS FAMILIARIZATION VISIT TO CRIG
A high-profile Nigerian military delegation from the National Defence Academy, led by Commodore Tahir Stanley Ngada of the Nigeria Navy, met with the Management of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) yesterday, Thursday, March 13, 2026.
The visit was part of a recent study tour hosted by leadership of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOB) and the National Defence College of Nigeria to centering on the strategic nexus between agricultural sustainability and regional security.
Opening the meeting, the Executive Director of CRIG, Dr. Kofi Owusu Domfeh welcomed the delegation and presented an overview of the activities of CRIG. He highlighted CRIG’s significant contribution in enhancing cocoa production in Ghana’s cocoa sector through technology and innovation.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Commodore Tahir Stanley Ngada commended CRIG’s leadership in agricultural research.
