SOD-CUTTING CEREMONY OF THE 24-HOUR ECONOMY MARKET

The Government of Ghana is constructing an ultra-modern market across all District in Ghana as an initiative to boost the 24-Hour Economy Policy. The Bosomtwe District was part of the beneficiaries of the policy.

Pursuant to the above, a sod-cutting ceremony of the 24-hour economy market of the Bosomtwe District was organized on Friday 29th May, 2026 at the Kuntanase New Market Site.

The delegation was led by the District Chief Executive in collaboration with the Kuntanase Chief and the Traditional Council accompanied by Assembly Members and Unit Committee Members, Staff of the Assembly, Market Women and Men and some community members.

STAKEHOLDERS’ ENGAGEMENT WITH THE MINISTER FOR FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE

As part of the effort to improve fishing mechanisms in the country, the Hon. Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture paid a working visit to the Bosomtwe District Assembly on Monday, 11th May, 2026 at the Lake side Abono.

The visit was aided to inland fishers, local authorities and community stakeholders with inland fishing operation and dynamics, better understanding challenges facing the sector and explore strategies to enhance productivity, sustainability and livelihood within the community.

The delegation was led by the District Chief Executive, Assembly Members, Chiefs and community members.

MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY
Bosomtwe District Assembly through the Bosomtwe Education Directorate (Girl Child Unit) in collaboration with Sunda Company Limited presents Menstrual Hygiene Day Celebration at Sawua School Park on Friday, 22nd May, 2026.

The theme for the celebration is “Together for a period friendly world”. The program will mark the presence of the Hon. District Chief Executive, the Hon. Member of Parliament, Traditional Council, Christian Council, Girls Child Officer, Gender Desk Officer.

SOD-CUTTING CEREMONY FOR THE GREEN CITY PROJECT-DEDESUA

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama paid a working visit to Bosomtwe District Assembly on Saturday, 9th May, 2026 to cut sod for the Green City Project in Dedesua Community. The gathering was on the behalf of the Board of Directors and Management of the State of Housing Company Limited (SHC).

This ceremony was organized for the construction of affordable homes in Dedesua. The District Chief Executive accompanied by all staff graced the occasion with their presence. The Member of Parliament, Hon. Yaw Osei Adutwum and other Executives was present to make the event a fruitful one. The purpose of gathering was successfully accomplished.

The Management of Bosomtwe District Assembly held a Stakeholders Meeting on Wednesday, 25th March, 2026 at the Wisconsin University College Auditorium, Feyiase.

The meeting was organized to bring all business stakeholders within the district together with the District Chief Executive to discuss ways to forge cooperation, build productive relationship and foster public-private partnerships.
