The John Darko factor

During the 2025 vetting of the nominee for Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, the first time MP who was just a month old in office Hon. John Darko foresaw a possible conflict of interest that would eventually milk the nation millions of dollars and that, discreetly subjecting the nominee to questions that would save the country from losses was vehemently opposed by the Chairman of the day Hon. Bernard Ahiafor even when the nominee himself has subtly called for such probe.

The brainy Hon. John Darko foreseeing that his party NPP having achieved an injuction barring an arbitration outside Ghana because the said firm, Casius Mining, with its lead counsel, Dr Dominic Ayine who was even the deputy attorney general when the company's license was given sought for that with 275 million dollars damages in early 2023.

The country was virtually free from that judgement debt but upon the ndc winning power in 2024 there is a total turn as the company has now renewed their damages from 275 to 905 million dollars.

Why is the company seeking such damages when there is a change in political power after been silent for almost 2years?
The question is, would our Minister of Justice and Attorney be patriotic and act in the interest of the state as there is a clear case of "di bi na me ni bi" that the honourable MP for Suame hinted the whole nation of.
