A SUMMARY OF HAPPENINGS IN THE CONSTITUENCY OF ABUAKWA SOUTH, OVER THE WEEK ENDING SATURDAY, 27TH APRIL, 2023

Over the week ending Saturday, 27th April, 2023, the Constituency of Abuakwa South was, to say the least, one of the busiest, and the most engaged, politically speaking.

On Monday, 28th, April, 2023, the Abuakwa South Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) issued a statement denying the falsehood that the President's house in Kyebi had been used for galamsey operation, as contained in Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng's report.

Throughout the week, the executives were heavily engaged by the media both on phone and physically. Specifically, the phoning began right after the statement was issued on Monday, through to the end of the week, primarily to seek further clarifications on the press release. On Thursday, 26th, and Friday, 27th, April, 2023, a crossection of the media comprising Joy News, UTV, Citi TV, Citi FM, Kessben TV, Asaase Radio and so on, thronged the President's Kyebi residence purposely to establish the facts on the ground regarding that aspect of the Professor's report. Thankfully, the media confirmed the position of the aforementioned Constituency Executives in their press release.

On same Thursday and Friday of the media houses' visitation, the free Health Insurance registration exercise sponsored by the Scholarships Secretariat Registrar in Abuakwa South, continued at Potroase. God bless Dr. Kingsley Agyemang for this kind gesture.

ABUAKWA SOUTH NPP CONSTITUENCY EXECUTIVES CONDUCT AN ORIENTATION EXERCISE FOR AREA CO-ORDINATORS AND POLLING STATION EXECUTIVES.

The Abuakwa South Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), have successfully conducted an orientation exercise for Electoral Area Co-ordinators and Polling Station Executives across the Constituency.

The exercise which was carried out on Friday, 10th and Saturday, 11th February, 2023, was premised on three topics: *A Walk through the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constitution -* presented by Mr. Williams Appiah (1st Vice Chair); *Strategic Action Plan Implementation to Break the 8 -* presented by Mr. Collins Broni (Constituency Elections and Research Officer); and *Effective Communication Process -* presented by Mr. Julius Okyere (Constituency Secretary). The Constutuency 2nd Vice Chairman, Nana Kofi Fredua Birikorang, also implored the gathering to always propagate the good news of the party, and not wash the party's dirty linen outside.

For the purpose of this exercise, the Constituency was zoned into four: Zone A which comprised polling stations in and around Asafo; Zone B which comprised areas in and around Apedwa; Zone C which comprised polling stations in and around Asiakwa; and Zone D which comprised polling stations in and around Kibi. The first two zones took their turn on the first day, while the last two had their encounter the second and last day.

All concerns raised during the question and answer session, were duly addressed.

In all, I will say this was a successful exercise.
