We were honoured to have the Vice President, Her Excellency Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, join us in celebrating the 25th anniversary of the enstoolment of the Krachiwura, Nana Mprah Besemuna III.

The celebration, held under the theme “25 Years of Transformational Leadership: A Call to Revive Our Heritage and Rebuild Our Alliances,” was a moment of pride and reflection for the entire traditional area.

The occasion highlighted the vital role of chieftaincy in preserving our cultural heritage, maintaining peace, and fostering unity within our communities.

I proudly congratulate the Krachiwura on this remarkable milestone and wish him continued good health, peace and prosperity in his reign.

I was privileged to have the Vice President, Her Excellency Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang commission one of my legacy projects, the Adom Kwafo Durbar Grounds, as part of activities marking the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Krachiwura, Nana Mprah Besemuna III.

The facility will serve as a vital space for social, cultural, and traditional engagements within the Krachi community.

I warmly congratulate the Krachiwura, Nana Mprah Besemuna III, on this remarkable 25th anniversary. May his reign continue to bring peace, unity, and development to the Krachi Traditional Area.

GRIEF STATEMENT

MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR KRACHI WEST CONSTITUENCY

Words cannot fully express how grief-stricken I was when I received the heartbreaking news of the boat accident that occurred on the Oti Lake between Okumah and Debume on Saturday, 11th October 2025.

To lose so many of our dear ones in such a tragic manner has left me deeply heartbroken. This is truly one of the darkest and most painful moments for our beloved constituency.

My heart goes out to the bereaved families. I feel your pain, I share in your tears, and I stand with you through this unimaginable loss.

Together with the Krachi West Municipal NADMO Office, we have escalated this unfortunate incident to the national authorities through the Regional Office to ensure that all necessary support, relief, and investigations are swiftly undertaken.

I also wish to commend the Krachi West Municipal NADMO, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Navy, and the many community volunteers for their tireless and compassionate efforts in the rescue and recovery operations.

May the Almighty comfort us all and grant eternal rest to the souls of our dearly departed.

From 7th to 11th October 2025, trained health workers will be in schools and communities to vaccinate girls aged 9 to 14 years against cervical cancer.

The vaccine is safe, free, and also available at all public health facilities nationwide.

The Committee on Gender, Children, and Social Welfare, which I led, undertook a benchmarking visit to Kigali, Rwanda, to engage with various entities, including the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Governance Affairs and Gender, the Bureau of Rwanda Women Parliamentarians Forum, the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion, the Gender Monitoring Office, the Ministry of Local Government, and Pro-Femmes, an umbrella organization comprising 52 women's groups. We visited the Campaign Against Genocide Museum and the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where I had the honor of laying a wreath on behalf of the nation and offered prayers for Rwanda's peace. Rwanda's notable progress in gender equity stems from its robust national gender machinery, gender-responsive legal frameworks, strong political will, and effective leadership. This experience has inspired our committee to explore practical strategies to promote gender equality, protect children's rights, and improve social welfare in Ghana.

Today, I met with various interest groups in my constituency to discuss my parliamentary work and gather feedback. The meeting provided valuable insights into local challenges and allowed us to brainstorm potential solutions. I also discussed national policies like the MahamaCare initiative and the uncapped National Health Insurance Scheme, which can improve healthcare access and enhance the well-being of our people.
