Government of Ghana signs a key term sheet with Eni/Vitol to Expand Gas Production

Ag. Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission, Ms. Emeafa Hardcastle on behalf of the Commission, yesterday witnessed the signing of a key term sheet by the Government of Ghana with Eni Ghana E&P, Vitol Upstream Ghana Limited, and its commercial partner, the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC). The signing ceremony led by the Hon. Ministers for Energy, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor and Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson marks an important step toward expanding domestic gas production from the Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP).

This term sheet sets out a clear framework of commercial principles to underpin the development of new gas infrastructure under the OCTP Non-Associated Gas Upgrade Project. It reflects the level of collaboration among government, regulators, and industry players in advancing Ghana’s upstream petroleum agenda.

The planned upgrade anchored on the development of the Gye Nyame field, installation of a booster compressor, and a new non-associated gas system on the FPSO has the potential to increase gas output by up to 350 MMscfd by 2028.
