Today, we honor the birth of our visionary architect of Pan-African unity, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. His dream of a liberated Africa, united in purpose and power, is a living call that still echoes across our communities today.

The journey to liberation and Pan-African unity that Nkrumah envisioned is far from over. We must keep the momentum alive by uplifting and supporting the organizations carrying his torch forward—groups like the Marcus Mosiah Garvey Foundation (), BuzStop Boys (), Nkyinkyim Museum (), Economic Fighters League (), and the Ghana Food Movement ().

Each of these Ghana-based organizations is contributing to the ongoing development of social, economic, and political infrastructure that strengthens our Panafrican future.

On this Nkrumah Memorial Day, let’s recommit to the struggle. Every act of organizing, every seed planted, every coalition built is a step toward the Africa and diaspora Nkrumah believed we could become.

🌍 World Strategy of Imperialism P.1-7 Review 🌍

After World War II, the U.S. and its allies had two big problems:

1. 🏭 Too many factories making extra goods at home.
2. ✊ People in Africa, Asia, and Latin America rising up for freedom.

Kwame Nkrumah shows how they “fixed” these problems by working together:

1️⃣ One Big Cartel – The U.S., Britain, France, and Germany teamed up instead of competing, sharing profits from the Global South.

2️⃣ Follow the Money– They sent extra cash overseas, but not to help. The funds built mines, oil wells, and giant farms that shipped gold, oil, cocoa, and other resources back to the West. Local people did the hard work for very low pay while foreign companies grabbed the profits.

3️⃣ Rule by Force – Because that unfair system sparks anger and uprisings, the cartel set up bases, trained local armies, and used NATO-style power to crush protests and revolutions that demanded better wages and control of local resources.

4️⃣ Money Weapons – They used the IMF, World Bank, and the U.S. dollar to keep countries in debt, forcing them to follow the cartel’s rules.

👉 That’s how collective imperialism works: many flags, one empire.

Imperialism didn’t disappear—it evolved.

After WWII, the U.S. and its Western allies—Britain, France, and West Germany—used their economic power to create a global system of control disguised as “development.” Institutions like the IMF, World Bank, and IDA weren’t made to uplift formerly colonized nations. They were built to trap us in cycles of debt, dependency, and underdevelopment.

This is what we call mutual inter-imperialist assistance—Western powers working together to exploit Africa, Asia, and Latin America without the need for direct colonial rule. Even global bodies like the UN and EU are used to push imperialist interests, from Korea to the Congo.

These systems are not neutral. They are weapons of empire.

To dismantle neo-colonialism, we must understand how it operates—and organize for sovereignty, unity, and liberation. 🖤✊🏾

After World War II, the United States emerged as the dominant global power by expanding its economic and military influence.

With Europe weakened, the U.S. gained control over global markets, surpassing European colonial powers in Africa, Asia, and Latin America through neo-colonialism. To maintain this dominance and delay economic crises, it militarized its economy under the pretext of countering socialist threats from the USSR and China.

Massive military spending absorbed excess economic resources, fueling wars, strengthening alliances like NATO, and ensuring U.S. control over strategic regions. At the same time, the U.S. used military aid and financial support to keep poorer nations dependent, disguising imperialist control as economic assistance.

This strategy cemented U.S. supremacy in the capitalist world, reinforcing its influence through both military force and economic manipulation.

After WWII, capitalism was under intense pressure from workers’ movements demanding reforms and liberation struggles in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. To maintain control, the system shifted from direct colonial rule to *neo-colonialism*—a strategy that gave the appearance of independence while ensuring economic and political control remained in the hands of imperialist powers, with the U.S. taking the lead.

Neo-colonialism allowed international finance and foreign powers to dominate supposedly “independent” states, creating puppet governments that prioritize imperial interests over the needs of their people. Resources from colonized nations were exploited to sustain welfare states in the Global North, while propaganda and psychological warfare were used to demoralize liberation movements and spread the harmful myth that Africans are incapable of self-governance.

The presence of foreign military bases across Africa, along with alliances designed to suppress revolutionary movements, highlights the ongoing threat of imperialism. These bases are not just symbols of control but active tools to maintain dependency and suppress efforts for true independence.

But the fight continues. Organized resistance is key to challenging these forces and reclaiming sovereignty. Africa’s liberation requires a united, revolutionary movement committed to rejecting dependency, dismantling neo-colonial structures, and achieving true self-determination.

Continuing with chapter one of , Kwame Nkrumah describes the world strategy of imperialism, before the Second World War, and outlines the global structure of domination and economic exploitation by capitalist powers via orthodox imperialism and colonial territories.

In Osageyfo’s view, imperialism before World War II was driven by a global capitalist system that divided the world into two main categories:

Capitalist imperialist powers that used direct control over colonies (through military, political, and economic dominance) to exploit resources and maintain global economic supremacy.

Colonial territories (mainly in Africa, Asia, and Latin America) were made economically dependent on the imperialist powers, feeding their economies with raw materials and agricultural products. While Latin American countries were formally independent, they were still under the indirect control of imperialist interests, making them neo-colonies.

Osagyefo Nkruma's description points to how imperialism was a global strategy where capitalist powers controlled both the political and economic structures of the world. He emphasizes that colonialism was not just about direct territorial rule, but about shaping global trade, economics, and resources in a way that perpetuated the domination of capitalist imperial powers.
