KEITI's Chief Representative held a meeting with the Permanent Secretary of Rwanda's Ministry of Environment-Rwanda, Mr. Fidéle Bingwa, to discuss the progress and implementation of a plastic recycling project supported by KEITI in Rwanda.

The engagement provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration and explore sustainable solutions for plastic waste management and recycling, contributing to Rwanda's transition towards a more circular economy.

The 2nd Korea–Africa Environmental Cooperation Forum brought together government leaders, diplomats, industry experts, and private sector stakeholders to strengthen environmental cooperation between Korea and Africa.

From insightful panel discussions on the circular economy to strategic business consultations and high-level engagements with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ghana, the Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability, and the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, the forum provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, partnership building, and exploring collaborative solutions for a more sustainable future.

The 2nd Korea–Africa Environmental Cooperation Forum organized by Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute - Ghana Office, in partnership with the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation and the Ministry of State for Climate Change and Sustainability brought together government leaders, diplomats, development partners, industry experts, academia, and stakeholders from across Africa to exchange ideas and strengthen cooperation on advancing the circular economy.
The programme commenced with a pre-forum meeting hosted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ghana, bringing together distinguished guests and key partners ahead of the official opening. The forum featured welcome remarks by the Ambassador - H.E Ambassador Park Kyongsig, remarks from KEITI's Chief Representative – Dr Hong Seok Kim, an opening address by the Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability – Hon. Issifu Seidu, a keynote address by the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs – Hon. Ibrahim Ahmed and the Managing Director of Ghana Water Ltd. - Mr. Adam Mutawakilu.
Participants also benefited from expert presentations on circular economy practices, an engaging panel discussion, and country presentations showcasing circular economy initiatives and experiences from across Africa.
KEITI remains committed to strengthening Korea–Africa partnerships and promoting knowledge exchange to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable and circular future.

KEITI Ghana's Chief Representative paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources to reaffirm KEITI's commitment to supporting Ghana's environmental agenda through strong institutional partnerships.
The meeting provided an opportunity to introduce KEITI's ongoing work in Ghana, discuss collaborative environmental initiatives, and engage on opportunities for capacity building, including the International Specialized Course on Environmental Technologies (ISCET) 2026 training programme in the Republic of Korea.
KEITI values its partnership with the Ministry and looks forward to continued collaboration in advancing sustainable environmental solutions and strengthening technical capacity in Ghana.

KEITI Ghana’s Chief Representative participated in the Development Partners' engagement on the National Decentralisation Policy and Strategic Framework (NDPS) 2026–2030, convened by the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD) Secretariat at Jubilee House.
The meeting brought together Government officials and development partners to discuss the implementation of Ghana's decentralisation agenda, with environmental governance, biodiversity, and climate action identified as key cross-cutting priorities. As these areas closely align with KEITI's mandate, the engagement provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen partnerships and contribute to future dialogue on sustainable environmental governance in Ghana.

The Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute (KEITI) was honored to sponsor and participate in the Landfills2Landmarks summit, which brought together various actors across the used clothing value chain.

During the summit, KEITI shared insights on South Korea’s waste management practices and policy reforms and explored how some of these policies and systems could be adapted to support Ghana’s sustainable textile waste management. Determined discussions also highlighted the environmental and economic benefits of effective textile waste management and circular economy approaches.

The summit further provided a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences with key stakeholders and leading companies in the textile industry. We look forward to continued collaboration and partnerships toward a more sustainable textile sector.

KEITI’s Ghana Representative Office led by the Chief Representative participated in the High-Level Ministerial Peer Learning Mission organized by UNDP and Environmental Protection Authority, Ghana for delegates from Malawi on Article 6 Carbon Markets.

The engagement highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing, regional collaboration, and collective action in advancing climate solutions and carbon market implementation under the Paris Agreement.

Through such partnerships and exchanges, South Korea continues to leverage international collaboration and shared expertise to support the achievement of its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and broader global climate objectives.
