We've pushed for a long time to get Chesney Fields upgraded and are really pleased that it's one of the spaces that will benefit - now we need YOUR views on what the new play area should look like!

💙 Brilliant to see the Lions Minster of York providing prostate cancer screening at Foxwood Community Centre - we know that some men who are worried may nevertheless struggle to come forward for routine testing so anything that can make that easier is really welcome. We talked to the team yesterday morning about how we might expand this community provision into other areas of the ward too.

Council officers have been out to Chesney Fields promptly this morning to clear the huge amount of mess left behind by the group camped here over the weekend. Thank you to our officers for their quick work on this!

We're working closely with the council to find a better solution for the future.

Wonderful to be part of the appointment of our 4th Lord Mayor as City of York Council councillors for Westfield earlier today. We've had Lord Mayors in York for over 800 years so it's always a real honour to be part of this ancient city tradition.

Welcome to Cllr Margaret Wells our new Lord Mayor for 2026-27 and huge thanks to Councillor Martin Rowley BEM for your amazing service to the city over the last 12 months.

Looking forward to seeing everything Margaret will fit in over the coming year ❤️⚔️🙏

Update from the community safety team at City of York Council : Following the reports to the council that Travellers have broken the gate& entered onto Chesney Fields, officers will be attending in the morning to assess, conduct the necessary checks, and serve directions to leave.

💪Productive morning in Chapelfields with this lovely crew. Great to see the results of City of York Council investment in housing improvements, especially addressing damp and mould. We spoke to a resident we supported 18 months ago, they've since had a new kitchen and bathroom: the whole house has been transformed, making a huge difference for their quality of life. We also talked to families about what's on at The Place - York and other activities for children and young people locally and picked up some new casework which is now underway 🌳 For other residents, litter was the number one issue so we gave the area around Barkston road a quick blast 🚮

❤️Teamwork makes the dreamwork. Thanks to everyone who took the time to speak with us. We'll continue to do everything we can to support people across the ward 🙏❤️🙏

☀️Beautiful day for Little Bird Markets and our regular surgeries at Explore: Acomb Library Learning Centre where we picked up residents' concerns about flytipping and litter and opportunities for our ward funding. Pleased to see that work on the overgrown area behind the library looks finally to be underway, which we've been pushing to happen for quite some time!

Fueled yesterday by spectacular food from Ruby’s Coffee House and Curious Brownie Co 🙏❤️🙏
