Got Christmas presents that would benefit from being security marked (so they can be easily identified as yours and returned to you if they're stolen)? North Yorkshire Police will be at Marjorie Waite Court from 10a.m. - 1p.m. this Tuesday, 10th January, and on Monday 30th January, to mark bikes, phones, laptops or any other property for free. They will also be offering crime prevention advice and are happy to talk about any issues in your area.

Out again on the streets of Clifton bright and early this morning delivering our latest leaflet in the Grosvenor Terrace and Grosvenor Road area along with part of Burton Stone Lane. Again a warm welcome from local residents and several items of casework.
Speaking of Grosvenor Road a reminder to all local residents that Grosvenor Road will be closed to traffic from Monday 15 August, 7.00am until Sunday 18 September 2022, 7.00pm due to demolition works.

On Thursday 16th June Michael did a litter pick on Burton Stone Lane near Sainsbury's - notice the clean looking road gulley visible over his shoulder in this picture! Why not come and join him and Mark for our next community litter pick, this Thursday (30th June)? It's a great way to make a real difference to our area, and to get out and enjoy the lovely weather! We're meeting at Crombie Avenue park at 4:30, and all equipment (including litter pickers/grabbers) is provided. We usually pick for about an hour, but any time you can give will be very gratefully appreciated.

On Thursday 2nd June (the first bonus bank holiday for the Platinum Jubilee), we did a litter pick starting at Crichton Avenue shops. After picking up litter from the area in front of the shops, we moved on down both sides of Crichton Ave as far as Wilberforce Ave and most of the way down Kingsway North, including the grassy area in the middle. We filled three big bags with rubbish, and we think the area looked much better when we finished than when we started!
Next time, why don't you and your family come and join us, so that together we can achieve even more? We're meeting on Thursday 16th June, 4:30pm, outside Sainsbury's on Burton Stone Lane. It's a great way to get out into the fresh air, meet some new people and make a real difference for our community. All equipment, including litter pickers/grabbers will be provided. (We usually pick for just over an hour, but any time you can spend would be much appreciated!)

Go here to see more about the next one on Thu 16th June, 4:30pm: https://www.facebook.com/events/840313690299915/

While delivering our new Focus newsletter down Water Lane, Michael was delighted to spot some things that have been fixed following our campaigning. A large area of road surface at the end of Brompton Road, that was badly damaged and potholed, has been relaid. And a drain opposite Rawcliffe Surgery (Priory Medical Group) has been unblocked, which seems to have gone some way towards improving the flooding problem along that stretch whenever it rains. To be honest, these could have been fixed for a while, but we just hadn't seen them!
Please let us know of any issues you notice in the local area, and we'll do our best to help you get them sorted.
