🌺 Poppy Drop-Off Points Across Yeovil 🌺

Thank you to everyone who is knitting and crocheting poppies for our Remembrance Day display at St John’s Churchyard. We’re delighted to have several drop-off points across Yeovil where you can leave your completed poppies:

📍 Yeovil Town House, 19 Union Street (9:00am – 4:30pm Monday - Friday)

📍 Ninesprings Café

📍 Mudford Recreation Centre Café

📍 Hobbycraft, Yeovil

📍 Birchfield Community Centre (Tuesdays only, 11:30am – 2:30pm)

Every poppy donated will help create a beautiful and meaningful display to honour those who have served and sacrificed.

Our estates team have been working on a new wildlife-friendly flower bed at St John's Church yard, under the yew tree it has been created to support Somerset's wildlife and pollinators. The bed features long-lasting perennial planting and attractive willow structures made by Able 2 Achieve and Carymoor, with miniature apple trees still to be added. We hope this beautiful space will provide year-round colour and a valuable habitat for local wildlife. We hope you enjoy this new bed as we know it is a change from the norm, but we wanted to create something longer-lasting and sustainable. The other three beds will have their own unique design, offering something different to enjoy. 😊 🌺🌹🪻🌸🌺🌷🌼💐

🌼 A beautiful splash of colour is starting to appear at Birchfield Park! 🌼

The wildflower seeds scattered by the children of Birchfield Primary School, with the help of the Estates Team, along the new hedge and fence line around Birchfield play park last winter have now started to flourish.

Its National Volunteer Week. The perfect time to enquire about volunteering with us in a wide rage of roles from gardening to marshalling at events, to designing literature and translating notices, producing art work, leading walks and even helping increase the diversity and equality for park users. We are slowly adding our vacancies to the Spark! Platform www.sparkachange.org.uk but if you have a skill you think we could use let us know! We also want to give a big shout out to all our volunteers including the practical vols at YEOVIL COUNTRY PARK and the allotment reps on all our 11 sites. Thank you!

On the website of Spark a Change you can find volunteering opportunities in Somerset (Taunton, Glastonbury, Yeovil, Shepton Mallet, etc).
