I am a 12 years qualified social worker with extensive experience in children in need, child protection, Family Court as a Family Court Advisor, Looked after Children/ Children in Care and Post Adoption breakdown as well as fostering. I have recently taken time out of frontline social w

ork due to professional and personal reasons. Having worked in the frontline social work as a local authority social worker for 12 years, I witnessed first hand that social work as I knew is changing. In speaking with parents and children, it became clear that an advocacy approach is best provided to families from an independent perspective from social worker's perspective. It is time to support children and families applying the appropriate Social work values and morals which is central to the profession with Children and Families as the Expert in their own lives!
