After a lifetime of grey skies, the sun finally appeared… naturally this phenomenon required only one thing: getting soaking wet and freezing cold all over again.
Today’s training on the River Avon gave us the chance to work in higher flow conditions, keeping our boat handling skills sharp and realistic.
We also refreshed our knowledge of engine mechanics and diagnostics, ensuring we can quickly identify and resolve issues while operating on the water.
The day was rounded off with rope technical skills and mechanical advantage systems, focusing on safe, efficient techniques that are vital during flood and swift water incidents.
It might have looked like a nice sunny day to everyone else, but for us it was another opportunity to train hard, stay prepared and make sure we’re ready when our communities need us most.
This is the training that keeps us ready to respond when the weather inevitably remembers it lives in the UK. If you’d like to help keep us trained, equipped and occasionally warm, please consider making a donation to support South Worcester Flood Rescue 💙
