Walpoles and West Winch Community First Responders

Walpoles and West Winch Community First Responders We are trained by and support the East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST). We are a voluntary group and rely heavily on public support.

EEAST's Charity number is: 1047987

https://www.justgiving.com/page/janet-luck-1697653243266?utm_term=xAzbppdBR Our community first responders (CFRs) are volunteers who are trained by the East of England Ambulance Service Trust to attend certain types of emergency calls in the area where they live or work. Their aim is to reach a potential life threatening emergency in the first vital minutes befo

re the ambulance crew arrives. Their role is to help stabilise the patient and provide the appropriate care until the more highly skilled ambulance crew arrives on scene to take over the treatment.

We had a really fun time delivering training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation in Old Hunstanton on Saturday.

The training was well-attended by a group of very sociable people who were keen to learn as much as possible. Well done all.

Here are some pictures (with consent).

COMMUNITY CENTRE DEFIBRILLATOR

UPDATE - the defibrillator has been returned so, thank you to whoever returned it. It has been checked and is now ready for use again.

______________
I'm so sorry that someone needed to use the defibrillator kept at Walpole Community Centre but I'm relieved that it was available and ready to use. I truly hope that it was of benefit.

If whoever has it could let me know and I will happily collect it so that it's available again asap.

Many thanks

Janet

UPDATE
Beth and all the wonderful members of the ladies darts team raised a whopping Β£480 for our group! That's absolutely amazing - thank you all for your generosity and making me feel welcome.

I was given Β£5 by Patricia Shaw to buy some raffle tickets, with the instructions to try to win something for my grandson. I won a tin of Polar Express biscuits and he's a very happy boy (he's got the tin and the biscuits are under guard 🀣). Thank you Pat and thank you everyone πŸ™πŸ‘

Well Robert Gay and his supporters at Walsoken Village Hall 2021 have done it again! They have raised Β£977.50 for our group at today's bingo πŸ‘. We would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone as this money will help us to buy much needed equipment - we're still using some old, secondhand phones and kit bags. Thank you all again πŸ™
