NO ADVICE SURGERY – THURSDAY 18TH JUNE

Please note that there will be no councillors’ advice surgery on Thursday 18th June, as Clifton Street Community Centre is being used as a polling station for the by-election.

The Worsley Mesnes Labour Councillors advise surgery for local residents will return on Thursday 25th June.

If you need help or advice with local issues, please come along and speak to your Labour councillors. We are here to help.

Today, we commemorate 82 years since the Normandy landings, marking the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe.

We honour the bravery and sacrifice of all those who fought to defeat fascism.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Following another one of our regular ward walks, we have reported a number of issues including potholes, blocked drains, fly-tipping, damaged street signs, litter, and overgrown edges.

Thank you to everyone who came along to today’s Worsley Mesnes Labour Councillors’ surgery at the Family Hub at Clifton Street Community Centre.

We’ve logged all the issues raised with the relevant departments and will keep residents updated as things progress.

Our councillors’ surgeries are held every Thursday from 10:30am to 11:30am at Clifton Street Community Centre.

Burnham Begins Library Re-opening Plans

A £1m funding boost has been announced by Labour’s Andy Burnham for an historic Wigan library which has been closed for nearly two years.

This week is Volunteers’ Week, and we want to say a huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers across our community in the Worsley Mesnes ward.

From community group members, litter pickers, food bank helpers, youth leaders, school volunteers, faith groups, sports coaches, carers, resident groups, event organisers, charity fundraisers, and those who simply check in on neighbours — your time, kindness and dedication make a real difference every single day.
