Eradicate BVD in Wales Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) is a disease which has having an increasingly destructive impact on the health of dairy cows and beef cattle in Wales.

Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) is a disease which is having an increasingly destructive impact on the health of dairy cows and beef cattle in Wales. It has been made a notifiable disease in many European countries and has been eradicated in Austria, Switzerland and the Scandinavian countries. An extensive programme of testing calves at birth has been underway in Ireland for some years with excellent

results, and in 2013 Scotland began an eradication programme, making it illegal to sell calves that have not been tested negative. Given the millions that the Welsh Government have spent on tackling bTB, it's astonishing that some simple measures have not been introduced to tackle BVD to improve the general health of cattle in Wales. Instead, the issue of BVD has been trapped in the mires of politics and bureaucracy. Help us to lobby the Goverment to act now before it becomes an epidemic. Welsh farmers are proud of their reputation for excellence, so our politicians must aspire for similar high standards. THERE ARE NO LOSERS IN ERADICATING BVD, ONLY WINNERS!
