For those of you who have bought tickets to this Saturday’s SOLD OUT pie and pea supper at Fryup Village Hall (Saturday 5th September, 7pm) in aid of Fryup WI and Esk Valley Lifeline, don’t forget to bring:

We have a winner! Our film quiz, which has been sold in Lealholm Post Office & Lealholm Village Shop as well as our recent events, was very popular. We had 25 quizzes returned for judging and 11 of these scored full marks. The random name generator wheel chose David & Georgie Simpson from Edinburgh as the winners. Their cheque will wing its way to them later this week.

If you provided your email address on your answer sheet, I’ll scan your marked sheet and email it back to you this week, along with the answers. I’ll also be sending back quizzes and answers to those who enclosed SAEs.

Thank you so much for supporting us and buying one of our quizzes (I’m sure there’ll be another one out in a couple of months!) and a big, big thank you to Lealholm Post Office & Lealholm Village Shop for selling the quizzes for us.

Last night's car treasure hunt raised £321 for village hall funds and a fantastic night was had by all! Why not come along to our next event on Friday 18th September? A fascinating presentation by Colin Gibson, 'the owl man', including how we can all help these wonderful birds to thrive in our area.

This morning’s Plant Sale and Coffee Morning at Fryup Village Hall raised a wonderful £918.70 for village hall funds. Thank you so much for everyone who grew and donated plants, those who made scones and cakes, all who donated raffle prizes and everyone who helped on the day. Massive thanks to everyone who came along this morning and supported us.
