Time is running out to share your views.

Our survey on the future of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service closes this Sunday.

We’re currently developing our next Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP), the five-year plan that guides how we keep people across Lancashire safe. At this stage, there are no proposed changes; we’re simply asking communities what matters most to them.

Your feedback will help shape how our services are delivered in the years ahead, and we’re keen to hear from as many people as possible before the survey closes.

Take part in our short survey here:

Closes 5pm Sunday 15 March 2026

Your response will help guide how we protect and support communities over the next five years.

We’re planning for the future of our services and your views matter.

Our Community Risk Management Plan is a five-year plan that outlines how we will help keep people in Lancashire safe. To shape our next plan, we’re inviting residents, businesses and communities to tell us what’s most important to them.

Your feedback will help guide how our services are delivered in the years ahead, with a further, more detailed consultation planned later in 2026.

For drill this week, the crew focused on low movement and branch handling.

The crew utilised a 45mm jet to practice some new techniques of moving lower to the ground while also focusing on some branch handling techniques.

Alongside this we also did a few workshops around, putting a smoke curtain in place, Start up and positioning of our PPV and quick deployment hose.

Today we had a visit from Rachael Dodgson from UK Parliament to educate our King's Trust Team on how our parliament works.

We were also lucky enough to have a visit from Lizzi Collinge MP who happily discussed her experiences in parliament and the issues that young people face in today's society.

Thank you both for helping to improve our young people's understanding and making politics more accessible.

We have eight fire engines, two aerial ladder platforms and the drone at a fire on White Lund Industrial Estate in Morecambe.

Please do not fly drones in the area as this will impact firefighting efforts.

The fire involves a commercial building which is creating a significant smoke plume in the area.

We advise people to keep their windows and doors shut if you can see or smell smoke, and to please avoid the area as there are road closures including part of the Bay Gateway.

No injuries have been reported and firefighters are working as fast as they can to extinguish the fire safely.

9:18pm update: This incident has now been reduced to four fire engines and two aerial ladder platforms. Crews will stay on scene overnight, and advice remains to please keep windows and doors shut if you can see or smell smoke in the area.
