Brent Youth Parliament

Brent Youth Parliament Brent Youth Parliament (BYP) is a group for young people in Brent to express their views and have a say about decisions that affect them.

The youth parliament is made up of young people aged 10-19 years old, from all walks of life. Parliament members decide on the issues that they want to look at (these are called portfolios) and then work with councillors and council officers to bring about changes that will improve local services for young people. Members also choose one campaign that they want to work on every year. Members are aged between ten and 19 years old and come from all walks of life. The Brent Youth Parliament is made up from a variety of schools, colleges and youth groups. The current make-up is as follows:-

Secondary Schools (14 seats)
Primary Schools (10 seats)
Targeted Groups (10 groups)
College of North West London (2 seats)
Local Youth Groups Sports Clubs (16 seats)
Brent Youth Matters 2 (5 seats)
Returning MYPs (15 seats)
